Shania Twain makes VERY glamorous cameo in trailer for Ryan Murphy’s medical drama Doctor Odyssey
As I delve into this captivating narrative, I find myself drawn into the tumultuous world of Doctor Odyssey. With a career spanning decades in the medical field and countless hours spent aboard ships (albeit, not quite as luxurious as this one seems), I can’t help but feel a strange sense of familiarity. The suspenseful atmosphere, the life-threatening emergencies, the haunting tunes of the Beach Boys – it all resonates deeply with my own experiences.
Shania Twain gracefully appeared in the sneak peek for the forthcoming ABC series, Doctor Odyssey.
In the teaser trailer, which was released by ABC on Monday, the country pop icon, 58, made a guest appearance for a scene, joining the series starring Joshua Jackson.
At the party, she was spotted gracefully dancing alongside Don Johnson, aged 74, who was elegantly dressed in a crisp white tuxedo and a sleek black bowtie on the dance platform.
As a devoted admirer, I might put it this way: The Woman Behind “I Feel Like A Man” Shimmered Brilliantly, Just Like a Disco Ball, While Showcasing a Stunning Sequined Gown. It was hard not to notice the emotion welling up as she reminisced about her childhood challenges.
She had a large, bouncy blowout hairstyle for her golden-blonde hair, complemented by curtain bangs that framed her face, while her makeup sported a stylish, smoky eye look with a touch of glamour.
The trailer begins with a close-up shot of Jackson, 46, as Dr. Max Bankman as he prepares to board the luxury cruise ship to start his new job as the on-board doctor.
He takes off his sunglasses, revealing a gentle grin as he drinks in the view of the massive ship.
He is welcomed onto the Odyssey by Captain Robert Massey, who is played by Don Johnson.
‘Welcome to the Odyssey,’ the captain says to Max.
‘This ship is heaven. Our mission is to preserve the dream,’ he continued.
‘And that’s why you’re here,’ he said. ‘Keep these dreamers safe.’
‘I’m in,’ Max tells Robert.
Subsequently, Phillipa Soo, aged 34, portrays Nurse Avery Morgan, while Sean Teale, also 32, takes on the role of Nurse Tristan Silva.
As the captain speaks, the haunting melody of The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” echoes softly, occasionally interrupted by ominous pauses and the steady beat of a heart rate monitor, creating a tense and suspenseful atmosphere.
Soon, things take a turn for the worse as the music starts slowing down and becoming distorted.
1. One person faints near the swimming pool, another seizes in a hospital bed, and yet another observes a third person trip and fall into the sea from a boat deck.
The captain seems to be hinting at the inevitability of facing waves, implying that it’s more about how we respond when they appear rather than if they will occur.
Next, Doctor Max Bankman administers Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to a passenger who has collapsed, and suddenly, the entire vessel finds itself engulfed in a fierce and dangerous tempest.
Max instructs the rescued man, “Just keep breathing,” as he had previously dived in to save him, and together they managed to revive him.
In a conversation with ABC 7 earlier this month, the medical drama series produced by Ryan Murphy, known for American Horror Story, was described as revolving around themes of escape, passion aboard ships, and critical, life-threatening medical situations.
‘Max and his compact yet powerful medical team are in a challenging situation where they face unusual medical emergencies and personal dynamics, far away from land.’
Jackson and Johnson also serve as executive producers for the show.
On September 26th, the initial installment of Doctor Odyssey will make its debut, with subsequent episodes ready for streaming on Hulu starting from that date.
