Shakira and Jason Aldean concerts canceled hours before showtime (here’s why)
If your schedule had included attending Shakira’s concert at Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox, on May 29, or Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn’s show there on May 30, unfortunately, those events have been cancelled. Feel free to make other arrangements for that time instead.
The concerning aspect is the reason behind it. Could there have been an issue with the 112-year-old stadium? If so, this might put Red Sox fans at risk of an incident occurring during a home game when they are cheering for their beloved team.
A positive aspect is that the stadium appears undamaged, or so we’ve been informed. Regrettably, a concert featuring Shakira at Fenway Park had to be cancelled mere hours before she was due to perform her signature moves on stage. As reported by Rolling Stone, the cancellation for both the Colombian music sensation and the country music artists stemmed from the same source: an issue regarding the integrity of the stage setup.
Here’s why the Shakira and Jason Aldean/Brooks & Dunn concerts were canceled at Fenway Park
Positive News: Fortunately, the artists weren’t given the opportunity to perform on stage where a unfortunate incident could occur.
Negative News: Unfortunately, if you had plans to attend a concert in Boston at the baseball stadium, it seems that your plans may not materialize.
At the upcoming performance, it’s Hozier, a popular Irish musician, who has been scheduled for two nights. However, details are still pending regarding if these shows will actually take place, as there’s a significant number of Irish descendants residing in the Boston area who might be looking forward to this event.
Shakira, Brooks & Dunn, and Jason Aldean were initially scheduled to be part of the Fenway Park Concert Series, with Shakira kicking it off in the beginning of the series that was planned to last through September. Following Shakira, artists such as Hozier, the Lumineers, Thomas Rhett, the Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, and My Chemical Romance have been booked to perform at this concert series.
There’s about a month left until Hozier takes the stage, so let’s hope whatever problem arises gets resolved. On the bright side, tickets for Shakira, along with Brooks & Dunn and Jason Aldean’s show, can be fully refunded. It’s unfortunate that you’ll have to forego an exciting event.
