Save Shadow Dialga from Giovanni in Pokémon GO during the next Team GO Rocket Takeover.
As a fellow enthusiast, I’m excited to share that starting mid-May, we’ll have the opportunity to rescue Shadow Dialga during the upcoming Team Rocket Takeover event! Just like previous events, this one will also introduce several new Shadow Pokémon and provide us with the chance to remove Frustration from their move sets. Can’t wait to battle alongside my newly liberated Shadow Pokémon!
In your next adventure, you’ll find a fresh research task that will culminate in a fight against Giovanni. This encounter offers the opportunity to catch Shadow Dialga, a Pokémon that appears to be quite beneficial for future battles.
Here is everything you need to know about the latest Team Rocket Takeover event in Pokémon GO.
Save Shadow Dialga from Giovanni
At any Team Rocket conquest in Pokémon GO, the main attraction is the opportunity to meet a fresh Shadow Legendary Pokéemon by defeating Giovanni. Following the arrival of Shadow Palkia, we’re now welcoming Shadow Dialga into the mix. This new addition will surely enhance your collection, as Dialga proves useful both in Raid Battles and for Master League PvP engagements too.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t wait to dive into the battlefield with the upcoming Shadow Dialga! Though we haven’t received detailed insights yet about its performance, early signs are promising. Keep an eye on Xpsp for a comprehensive analysis of Shadow Dialga before the action begins!
Pokémon GO Team GO Rocket Takeover May 2025
The upcoming Team GO Rocket Takeover is set to occur from Wednesday, May 14, midnight, to Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., based on your local timezone. During this period, they will be controlling the Crown Clash event that was earlier announced.
Event Bonuses:
The following bonuses will be active during the event.
- Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
- Pokémon caught via one-star and three-star Shadow Raids during the event will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.
Make sure to take advantage of the chance to get rid of Frustration.
New Shadow Pokémon join the game
As is customary during takeover situations, Sierra, Cliff, Arlo, and other Team GO Rocket Grunts will receive updated rosters featuring fresh Shadow Pokémon. Moreover, a handful of new Pokémon have become available in their Shadow forms for capture. Engage and defeat the Team GO Rocket Grunts to encounter these elusive shadows.
- Shadow Slakoth
- Shadow Inkay
- Shadow Tyrunt
- Shadow Amaura
Let’s be patient and find out which new Pokemon the Rocket Leaders will utilize in their fights. Rest assured, Xpsp is here to provide all the essential information needed for victory!
Shadow Raid rotation
Additionally, Shadow Pokémon can be found in One-, Two-, and Three-Star Raids during this special event. Be on the lookout for some thrilling choices! Here’s a breakdown of the schedule:
* Day 1: [Pokemon A]
* Day 2: [Pokemon B]
* Day 3: [Pokemon C]
* Day 4: [Pokemon D]
* Day 5: [Pokemon E]
* Day 6: [Pokemon F]
* Day 7: [Pokemon G]
* Day 8: [Pokemon H]
* Day 9: [Pokemon I]
* Day 10: [Pokemon J]
* Day 11: [Pokemon K]
* Day 12: [Pokemon L]
* Day 13: [Pokemon M]
* Day 14: [Pokemon N]
One-Star Raids
- Shadow Magnemite
- Shadow Cyndaquil
- Shadow Murkrow
- Shadow Spoink
Three-Star Raids
- Shadow Lapras
- Shadow Piloswine
- Shadow Gurdurr
Shadow Gurdurr and Shadow Piloswine are definitely worth using, while Shadow Mamoswine and Shadow Conkeldurr make fantastic choices for Raids. (In this version, I’ve used “definitely” instead of “absolutely”, “using” instead of “doing”, and “choices” instead of “attackers” to make the sentence more natural and easy to read.)
Team GO Rocket event also changing 12 km Egg rotation
Additionally, there’s a change regarding the 12km Egg Pool that trainers will appreciate. Previously overused Pokémon like Larvitar and Pawniard have been available multiple times through other means, causing some frustration among trainers. From the onset of this event, these two Pokémon are being shifted from 12km Eggs to 10km Eggs for a more balanced experience.
Other event details
At this event, you’ll find exclusive Field Research tasks offering Fast TMs, Charged TMS, and Mysterious Components, as usual. Additionally, there’s a unique, time-bound paid research for $4.99. Rewards include a Super Rocket Radar, two Premium Battle Passes, encounters with regally adorned Nidoqueen and Nidoking, and more!
Not only is there an array of event-themed PokéStops on display, but you can also find a unique Crown Clash Ultra Ticket box in the online store for your convenience.
