Sex Education’s Connor Swindells weds fiancée in Highlands ceremony

The man who brought Otis Milburn’s tough yet tender friend to life has now found his own happily ever after with Amber Anderson. It seems that real life mirrors the magical moments we see on screen – love blossoming between two characters and then spilling over into their off-screen lives.

Sex Education star Connor Swindells has tied the knot with fiancée Amber Anderson.

In a picturesque ceremony held in the Scottish Highlands, the well-known actor exchanged vows with his longtime companion, surrounded by loved ones. Remarkably, the star’s on-screen father from the popular Netflix series, Alistair Petrie, had the honor of officiating their wedding. This versatile actor has previously captivated audiences in productions such as “SAS Rogue Heroes” and “Barbie.

Images of the newlywed couple were posted on the British Vogue’s Instagram page, offering followers a peek at their memorable occasion.

Apart from acting, Anderson is particularly renowned for her performances in “Peaky Blinders” during its sixth season and the 2020 movie version of Jane Austen’s novel “Emma,” where she shared screen time with Swindells as well.

After connecting on the set of Autumn DeWilde’s movie Emma, they maintained contact. However, it was their interactions during the lockdown that provided a fresh perspective on each other.

In the images, Anderson chose a Vivienne Westwood gown for the event, while Swindells appeared sharp in a navy suit adorned with a tartan tie.

In one image, Anderson and Swindells can be spotted standing at the altar alongside their ‘Sex Education’ colleague Petrie, who donned a kilt for the occasion as he served as the officiant for the couple.

During a shared journey to Botswana, as reported in an interview with Vogue magazine, Swindells disclosed that he popped the question to Anderson.

On safari, the Vigil character knelt beside a millennia-old baobab tree.

As we turned the bend, there was a stunning baobab tree waiting for us. He continued, “From that point on, the outcome relied solely on me.” Then, he added with a smile, “She agreed.

Another notable figure gracing the wedding was filmmaker Emma, specifically Autumn de Wilde, who delivered a speech during the wedding reception.

In Anderson’s words, “It was incredibly meaningful for her to talk with us – we connected due to the film she produced, and throughout the years, she transformed into our dearest friend, guiding spirit, counselor, and loving aunt.” To put it simply, “She is an integral part of our world.
