Sex Education star shares update amid “excruciating” health battle
As a fellow gamer and fan of Anthony Lexa’s work, it’s heartbreaking to see her going through such a challenging time with her health. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for someone as vibrant and full of life as she seems, to feel so far removed from the world we all love.
Actor Anthony Lexa, known for his role in Sex Education, recently posted about his ongoing struggle with a very painful health issue.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share a heartfelt moment. The actress, known for her role as Abbi Montgomery in the Netflix comedy-drama, posted an Instagram Story featuring her visage adorned with eczema. In her caption, she bravely confessed that life is currently presenting some exceptionally challenging circumstances for her.
“She penned that she can’t recall the sensation of being human, as if she’s been detached from life and its essence for several months now, not even a fortnight back in Devon. I could use some support myself, any suggestions? Time seems to be crawling by so painfully slow.”
Last month, wrapping up my Instagram posts, I shared a bit about myself – me, Lexa. Turns out, I’ve been dealing with something called Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) causing my eczema flare-ups.
The Society for National Eczema identifies Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) as intense responses that may appear when high- or medium-strength topical creams used for over a year, primarily for treating eczema, are discontinued. These reactions often worsen symptoms compared to the initial skin condition.
In addition to the stated situation, it might lead to profound fatigue and lack of strength, a topic Lexa discussed in her recent posting.
She mentioned that it’s challenging for her to prepare meals and tidy up her environment, as this situation has impacted her capacity to create online content and connect with others to boost her music career. Furthermore, she disclosed that she’s managing on a mere three hours of sleep each day due to the discomfort she’s experiencing.
In the captivating world of “Sex Education,” I had the privilege to portray my character as part of a groundbreaking moment – the show’s first transgender love story, shared with Felix Mufti’s character, Roman.
In an exclusive conversation with Digital Spy, the show’s intimacy coordinator, David Thackeray, passed on managing the scene to his fellow coordinator, Tigger Blaize, for a more genuine execution.
He mentioned that one of the impressive aspects of “Sex Education” is its ability to bring in specialists who help determine accurate information for the script, ensuring it’s based on real-life sources rather than just creative imagination.
All four seasons of Sex Education are now available to stream on Netflix.
