Sex and the City fans go into meltdown as HBO Max tease ANOTHER Kim Cattrall cameo to save And Just Like That
Fans of Sex and The City were thrilled when HBO Max hinted at a possible return of Kim Cattrall in ‘And Just Like That‘, following speculation that her earlier appearance had played a significant role in reviving the reboot.
In a surprising turn of events, Kim Cattrall, known for her public rift with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, consented to a brief cameo appearance in the final episode of season two in 2023. It is said that she was compensated a reported $1 million for her 71-second performance as Samantha Jones.
Now, the network has apparently confirmed another unexpected return of Cattrall, following a significant drop in viewership during the third season of And Just Like That. They shared a screenshot depicting Carrie Bradshaw texting Samantha, accompanied by an eye-catching emoji.
Supporters swiftly expressed intense excitement, bordering on hysteria, over the possibility of Samantha’s comeback. Some went as far as labeling the network as ‘desperate’ for making such a move, with one fan commenting: “She’s exactly what the show needs to revive it.
Others wrote: ‘you’re desperate.
‘Omg! Please say Samantha is popping up!

‘You know how much that’ll cost ya. Kim doesn’t play with her salary for a cameo.
‘What is happening?
‘Don’t play with us. Sign that Samantha Jones will return?
‘Please bring her back .’
Last July Cattrall denied rumors she was set to return again for the third season.
The third season’s viewership has decreased due to criticism about its less engaging plotlines, exaggerated performances, and uninteresting secondary characters.
As a devoted follower, I’ve gathered that data from Samba TV reveals the third season opener attracted approximately 429,000 households within the first three days post-broadcast, representing a drop of 7% compared to the viewership recorded for the season two premiere.
In contrast, seasons two and three have significantly lagged behind the viewership of the first season’s premiere, which was seen by approximately 1.1 million households.
Currently, starting from June 24, The Gilded Age, another series starring Cynthia Nixon, has surpassed And Just Like That to claim the number one spot on HBO Max’s streaming rankings.

In the first season of AJLT, it was Samantha who made an appearance, albeit through text messages, as Carrie persistently reached out to rebuild their friendship.
In the revival, Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis once again took on their characters. Carrie asserted that Samantha had cut ties with her and relocated to London, all because she was upset about being let go as a publicist in a plotline that Cattrall found untrue to the character’s essence.
In a 2022 interview with Variety, Sarah Jessica Parker stated that she wouldn’t necessarily be opposed if her feud with Kim Cattrall were to miraculously resolve and Kim decided to return to the show after their disagreement escalated in 2018.
Parker said, “I believe she has expressed her feelings openly in the past, too much for me to consider joining her.
Adding: ‘I haven’t participated in or read articles, although people are inclined to let me know.’
In a recent conversation, I shared, “You know, we didn’t turn to Kim for guidance on this matter. Following our decision not to work together on the film project, due to the studio’s inability to accommodate her demands, it became crucial for us to genuinely listen and understand what was significant to her.
Previously, Cattrall had expressed no interest in reprising her beloved role as the voracious publicist, a part she last portrayed in the critically panned 2010 movie, Sex and the City 2.
But all changed when it was revealed she would appear in the show’s second season.
Although it remains uncertain whether Cattrall and Parker will appear together physically on set once more, Samantha made her reappearance through a phone call to Carrie instead.
In the beginning of the episode, Samantha made her appearance shortly after Carrie returned home, having a conversation with Aiden (John Corbett) over the phone, as she called to check on him following his hasty return to Virginia upon learning that his son Wyatt (Logan Souza) had been hurt.
Following a chat with her feline friend, Carrie receives a phone call from Samantha. She informs Carrie that her flight has been postponed by three hours, meaning she won’t arrive on time.
In a puzzled manner, Carrie queries, ‘Before what event is this?’ To which Samantha replies, ‘Your final dinner party at your old place,’ hinting at the farewell gathering Carrie had arranged for her long-term apartment.
Samantha mentions, “Miranda and Charlotte shared everything with me. I had planned on surprising you, which definitely makes Carrie happy.
Carrie expresses her surprise, saying, “Wow, I can’t believe it!”, while Samantha, equally shocked, comments, “I see it now, the fog has cleared, but the team? They’ve reached their limits. I’m absolutely livid.
Despite Carrie suggesting they meet up tomorrow, Samantha clarifies that she had already departed from Heathrow airport this morning and was due to return on the earliest flight available.
A confused Carrie asks, ‘Wait a minute, you were flying all the way to New York for an overnight?’

Samantha says, “Since it’s your place, I feel I should show some courtesy first,” before requesting Carrie to set the call on speaker mode and lift her phone for visibility.
She positions the phone towards the apartment, and Samantha exclaims, “Thanks for everything, you marvelous marvel, wonderful apartment,” prompting Carrie to chuckle uncontrollably.
Carrie queries if Annabelle Bronstein, who now resides in London, speaks with a British accent, to which she replies, ‘I’m not Samantha; I’m Annabelle Bronstein. I hail from “Injah,” causing Carrie to chuckle.
Samantha responds with ‘Ta and goodnight’ as Carrie replies ‘Bye’, with Samantha smiling during her car ride home after saying their goodbyes on the phone following her arrival at the airport.
