Severance season 2 sets incredible new record
Severance season two has set a huge new record for the Apple TV+ series.
In this intriguing psychological tale, the story unfolds within a made-up corporation called Lumon Industries. Here, workers undergo a unique surgical process called “severance,” which divides their memories of work and private life.
Mark Scout (Adam Scott), having taken charge of a group of colleagues who’ve experienced a certain process, starts to ponder about his role at Lumon upon the arrival of an enigmatic coworker.
Following the thrilling finale of season one that unveiled Lumon’s ominous plan, viewers eagerly waited for the next chapter, which premiered on Apple TV+ on January 17.
Following its debut, “Severance” has now outpaced “Ted Lasso” as the most-viewed premiere season on Apple TV+.
According to Deadline, the show holds the record as the service’s most-watched series ever, considering the number of distinct viewers from January 17 up until February 17.
The second season of “Severance” has seen a 126% surge in new subscribers from January 1 to January 19, compared to the same period (December 1 to December 19) in 2024.
The broadcaster shared with the media outlet that “Severance” has surpassed all other Apple TV+ shows in terms of viewership, making it the most-watched series worldwide.
Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+’s programming chief, expressed to Deadline: “We’ve always been captivated by Ben Stiller’s exceptional ability to create unique and engaging narratives. With him and Dan Erickson leading the way, Severance has become an extraordinary hit and a cultural sensation.
As a devoted viewer myself, I must say the show has gripped me, and it seems to have captivated audiences worldwide. I eagerly anticipate more, eager to delve deeper into the ingenious plot twists that lie ahead in the forthcoming episodes.
Scott delved deeper into the enigma of Lumon in season two, working alongside Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette.
Additionally, some fresh personalities have been spotted near the water cooler, among them are Sarah Bock, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and John Noble.
