Several Major Publishers Ready to Delay Their Games to Avoid GTA 6

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve learned that some big-time publishers are prepared to postpone their game launches to steer clear of the debut of Grand Theft Auto VI, as suggested by reports from The Game Business.

In the fall of 2025, it’s expected that GTA VI will hit the market, making a significant impact on both sales figures and the atmosphere (due to its massive hype) – it will undoubtedly be the standout game of the entire year.

It’s not surprising at all that other significant game publishers choose to postpone their launches to stay out of the shadow cast by Rockstar Games.

In the Game Industry, we often hear insights from confidential sources within some of the world’s leading publishing companies. One such source commented, “Rockstar Games tend to consume vast amounts of both money and time from the market.” This approach is not something we wish to emulate. Instead, we are devising various strategies for our upcoming titles.

A high-ranking official is said to have commented, “We prefer not to debut our product right before or immediately after a major event. If it arrives in late October, it forces us into an early launch – which many are opting for due to the current abundance of summer releases. Alternatively, we could wait, facing off against Black Friday sales.” Essentially, timing is our main challenge, not financial resources. It’s a tough market out there.

In essence, the development of GTA 6 is like a massive asteroid. Our plan is simply to steer clear of the impact zone.
