Seven’s Stranded on Honeymoon Island gets bumped to later time slot amid dire ratings – as cast member goes rogue and reveals major spoiler
Seven’s Stranded on Honeymoon Island only made its debut this week.
However, the dating show encounters numerous difficulties due to dwindling ratings, compounded by a cast member’s disclosure of a significant plot twist on social media.
After the filming wrapped up in 2023, it seems that business analyst Tom Brown, aged 30, swiftly didn’t let the grass grow under his feet when paired with 29-year-old executive Emily, suggesting a quick move on from the show.
On Instagram, Tom regularly posts updates about his blossoming relationship with fiancée Morgan Mitchell, a contestant from the 2021 season of Australian Survivor.
He recently announced that he has become a father to twin girls, Honey and Maya, who were born in the past month. This joyous news came after his engagement to Morgan in July 2024.

In the realm of reality television, it’s generally seen as inappropriate for someone like Tom to disclose personal details about his relationships, particularly during the run of the show when plotlines are still unfolding.
In an uncontainable frenzy, I’ve been documenting my life lately, and let me tell you, nothing has been more heart-melting than the moments when I snap selfies with my precious twin babies! One day, I found myself cradling one of them, while their other sister looked on, and guess what? A perfect sibling selfie was born!
Another photo shows the couple posing with a ‘twin pram’.
Due to its less-than-impressive premiere on Monday, the show “Stranded on Honeymoon Island” has been moved to a different time slot at a later date.
It appears that Seven’s aspirations for recreating the success of Nine’s “Married at First Sight” with their own provocative dating show are rapidly diminishing.
With its first episode, the show attracted an average of about 539,000 viewers across the country. However, by Tuesday, countless fans had abandoned the romantically-stranded characters on the show.
Only 376,000 fans tuned for the second two-hour episode.
Tonight’s news indicates that the show will be shifted from its prime-time 7:30 PM spot on the upcoming Monday to 8:30 PM, however, they will air the episode originally scheduled for Tuesday at 7:30 PM instead.

According to the industry blog, the episodes scheduled for July 7th and 8th are still set to air at 7:30 PM.
The eagerly anticipated program brings together elements of both MAFS and Survivor. It tells the story of 12 individuals struggling with love, who find themselves marooned on an isolated island without any means of departure for a period of 21 days.
Presented by well-known radio personality Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, this show takes inspiration from a successful Danish idea and has been tailored for Australian audiences by Endemol Shine Australia.
After Amy Dickinson, who was stranded on Honeymoon Island, has shared her thrilling journey through Seven’s latest reality dating experiment.
On Tuesday, Amy, aged 30, spoke to Daily Mail Australia and shared that she felt ‘terrified’ upon being paired with motorsport host Mike, who is 37 years old. She felt certain from the start that their honeymoon would be far from a peaceful and joyful experience.
‘I called it Nightmare Island immediately,’ she admitted.
Upon arriving at the island, it slowly dawned on me the situation I’d found myself in… I experienced a brief moment of fear or anxiety.
Although Amy experienced a quick connection with another participant during the fast-paced speed dating session, she was taken aback when she was matched with Mike – and warning signs began to emerge even before they reached their bamboo shelter.

She disclosed that in his wedding promises, he had mentioned expressing a hope that his future spouse could possibly prepare sandwiches better than his mother,” (formal)
“She shared that during their vows, he hinted at wanting his future wife to potentially make sandwiches superior to his mom’s,” (informal and easy to read)
He asserted he had penned the piece at age seven, yet it was clear this statement wasn’t true. I have no tolerance for dishonesty, especially not from those who show disrespect towards women.
As a devoted admirer, I must confess that, stepping onto the show, I harbored hopes that the wise mentors would boast a more refined palate for gentlemen compared to my own. However, I can’t deny that I’ve encountered my fair share of poisonous romances.
When asked what viewers can expect from the series, Amy teased: ‘Drama. Tears. Chaos. It’s so raw.’
It’s a more intense version of Married at First Sight. Now with MAFS, you have a general idea of what might happen – infidelity incidents, dramatic outbursts, and all the typical drama. But this is something more extreme.
‘But with Stranded, no one knew what was coming next. Not even us.’
