Seth, introduced in Version 1.1 alongside Jane, is an A-rank Defense Agent who deals electric anomaly damage. He is a supportive unit that can provide shields to the party, and those shielded get an anomaly proficiency buff, on top of his ability to decrease an enemies anomaly buildup resistance, making him a great pick for Anomaly teams.

This manual offers optimal defensive DPS build suggestions for Seth following the ZZZ 1.1 update. Whether you’re a free-to-play gamer or a payer, this guide caters to everyone! Keep in mind that these strategies are based on the character’s base Mindscape level.
Overview
In the 1.1 release, Seth can be found on both the Jane banner and standard banner, serving as a member of the Special Response Team. His unique ability lies in his Electric Defense support function, which allows him to accumulate Resolve during combat by performing various actions. This Resolve can then be utilized to provide protective shields to the preceding team member when he switches positions with them. These shields not only bolster their health but also grant an anomaly proficiency bonus, making him an ideal companion for other Anomaly agents. Furthermore, if his Extra Ability is activated, Seth can lower anomaly resistance in enemies, further enhancing his value as a team member for Anomaly squads.

- While Shielded, the equipper’s Energy Regen increases by 0.4/s. The Anomaly Buildup of EX Special Attacks and Assist Follow-Ups increase by 36%.
- As Seth’s Signature W-Engine, it is his best-in-slot option, as it not only increases his energy regeneration—essential for quickly gaining Resolve—but also makes it easier for him to inflict Shock due to the Anomaly Buildup bonus.

- Reduces DMG taken 7.5/8.5/9.5/10.5/12%. When attacked, the equipper’s Energy Generation Rate increased by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s. When the equipper switches off-field, this buff will be transferred to the new on-field character with its duration refreshed. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
- Since Seth will want a lot of energy regen in order to gain Resolve on a faster rotation, the energy regen rate upon getting hit makes this a viable second choice option for Seth. Not only that, but damage taken is reduced, and the energy regen buff is passed on to another squad member upon switching to them, upping his support game as well.

- Increases Max HP by 8/9.2/10.4/11.6/12.8%. Increases the equipper’s ATK by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% when they are shielded.
- At M6, Seth makes an excellent DPS, meaning Bunny Band would serve him really well. Even if you aren’t M6, this will be a good choice for if you want Seth to be able to deal more damage while on the field.

- The Shield value provided by the equipper increases by 30/38/46/52/60%. When any squad member triggers Interrupt or Perfect Dodge, all squad members’ DMG increases by 18/22.5/27/31.5/36% and Daze dealt increases by 12/15/18/21/24% for 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
- This is a great (and only) S Rank Defense W-Engine that will make Seth’s shield much more effective as well as increase the squads damage and daze by a considerable amount.

- Increases Max HP by 8/9/10/11/12.5%. When attacked, the equipper’s Impact is increased by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s.
- This is for if you’re not going with another Stun agent in your party and you want to improve Seth’s ability to act as your stun unit on top of his natural ability in his kit. Besides that, I would keep this as your last choice.

As a devoted fan, I’m all about amping up Seth’s defensive capabilities in my latest build. The primary goal here is to maximize his shield strength and enhance its impact. What sets this apart is the consistent 15% damage bonus for my entire squad, which adds a steady edge to our combat effectiveness. This build is tailored perfectly for a heavy rotation team, ensuring we’re always on the frontlines.
Skill Priority
ALWAYS PRIOIRITZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!
Seth’s signature move plays a crucial role in his arsenal. Not just does he rely on it heavily whenever he enters the battlefield to swiftly accumulate Resolve, but enhancing it significantly boosts the damage and stuns it inflicts.
2. As a defense agent, Seth’s Defensive Assist deals a decent amount of daze.
3. Increasing Chain simply increases the amount of damage to the enemy.
4. If Seth’s M6 isn’t unlocked, you can generally give his basic attack a lower priority since he likely won’t use it frequently or at all, unless he serves as your primary damage dealer.
5. There is no benefit to using Seth’s Dash attack or Dodge Counter, so it can be saved for last.

When you have two or more characters from the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team in your squad, after activating an ability, there is a 50% chance to initiate a sequence of additional attacks, with up to three consecutive triggers. Additionally, the power of Bangboo Chain Attack increases by 35%.
As a fan, I’d like to share my insights on team compositions: When you include Jane, Zhu Yuan, or Qingyi in your squad, you’re effectively adding two members of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. In this scenario, Officer Cui truly shines, dealing an impressive amount of physical damage with their active skill. Moreover, they enhance the power of their chain attack’s damage, making them an exceptional choice for tackling tough elites and bosses.

Optimal Team Comps
Team 1 – Stun / Electric
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share how this dynamic N.E.P.S-centric squad, featuring me (Jane), Qingyi, and Seth, operates. Each team member possesses an extra skill, with Seth having a unique edge: his Chain Attack: Final Judgement or basic attack when Electrified, Lightning Strike, deals damage to enemies and lowers their Anomaly Buildup RES to all Attributes by 20% for 20 seconds. For budget-friendly players, you can replace Qingyi with Anby and Jane with Billy. Nevertheless, I firmly believe Seth synergizes best with an anomaly unit, given his abilities are tailored towards enhancing the performance of such characters.
Team 2 – Disorder / Anomaly
The trio comprising Jane, Grace, and Seth, collectively known as the Anomaly Squad, possesses the ability to activate their individual anomalies and inflict chaos damage. This team is extraordinarily potent, but may not be suitable for those without premium resources.
Overall Thoughts
Seth is an outstanding teammate for any squad focusing on anomalies, and I strongly believe he’s a perfect match for Jane. If you pair them together, you’re off to a fantastic start for a truly exceptional team. Moreover, his kit is straightforward to grasp; the key is ensuring he has sufficient energy regeneration so that during his rotation, he can deploy his EX Special ability to accumulate enough resolve, which then enables him to activate his shield enhancements.
