Serena Williams watches Jumping Individual final with daughter Olympia, 6, in Paris after calling out restaurant for turning her and her kids away during 2024 Olympics

As a devoted fan of tennis royalty, Serena Williams, I can’t help but marvel at her enchanting journey through life and sports. With each passing day, she continues to defy expectations and set new standards for greatness. The latest chapter unfolds at the Olympic Games in Paris, where this phenomenal athlete is not just competing, but living every moment with her precious daughter Olympia by her side.

On Tuesday during the eleventh day of the Olympic Games, Serena Williams spent a fun-filled family day with her six-year-old daughter, Olympia, attending the Jumping Individual Final together.

Previously acclaimed tennis player, aged 42, donned oversized shades and fashioned her golden tresses into loose waves.

As a devoted follower, I too donned a crisp white T-shirt, just like my role model, while my little companion, Olympia, mirrored her style in a white shirt and stylish sunglasses, topping it off with a hat that matched the warm hue of the earth.

Yesterday, mom and I watched the U.S. versus Brazil men’s volleyball quarterfinals game.

Serena cradled Olympia, who she shares with husband Alexis Ohanian, as they enjoyed the game. 

Following a phone call with Serena, I decided to take action and arrange an outing that speaks volumes. You see, she recently encountered an unfortunate incident at a renowned Parisian hotel – they refused entry to her family at their rooftop restaurant, even though the place was empty. This experience inspired me to show my solidarity and make a statement by choosing this establishment as our next gathering spot.

23-time Grand Slam champion vocalized her dissatisfaction on X about the service she experienced at The Peninsula Hotel on Monday, expressing her frustration over how her stay transpired.

Oh dear, here I am, @peninsulaparis. It seems my request for a family dining experience on the rooftop of a more upscale eatery, despite repeated attempts, has been consistently denied. My children and I have yet to enjoy such an occasion together in these finer establishments. A first, indeed!

As a devoted admirer, I just had to let my fellow fans know where the one and only Serena was holed up! She graciously posted a picture of the sign at the hotel, making it crystal clear for all to see and join in the excitement!

At The Peninsula Hotel, we sincerely apologize for not being able to accommodate Serena earlier tonight. We express our regrets for any inconvenience caused. This was shared on X platform.

I’m sorry, but it seems our rooftop bar is already fully booked. The empty tables you noticed actually belong to our restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, as it too is fully reserved.

At The Peninsula Paris, we’ve always taken pride in welcoming you and will continue to do so whenever you return.

Fans of Serena swiftly criticized the hotel for turning down tennis icon, Serena Williams. One fan humorously inquired: “I wonder how you can be declined when you’re Serena Williams… haha”

‘Glad you didn’t have to waste money there,’ another fan pointed out. 

“Someone mentioned that it would be wiser not to go there because the food isn’t very good – I’ve sadly found myself paying for that disappointment on several occasions.”

Williams, along with her six-year-old daughter, Olympia, and her entire family, have participated in multiple Olympic events together in Paris.

She too participated in the opening ceremony of the Games on July 26, joining stars like Rafael Nadal, Carl Lewis, and Nadia Comaneci, all sharing a boat during the event.

Serena described the ceremony as ‘unforgettable.’ 

“She humorously recounted her experience, from participating in a breathtaking Opening Ceremony at the Paris Olympics to rowing in the rain, which was quite heavy and even caused her eyelashes to fall out.”

Beyond my triumphs at the Grand Slams, I’ve also earned four golden Olympian accolades, myself. In 2012, I was fortunate enough to add a gold medal from both the singles and doubles events in London to my collection.
