Sequel To Hit Paul Rudd Sci-Fi Movie Arriving on Hulu Soon

Hulu will soon be streaming “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.” The movie picks up where “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (2021) left off, continuing the adventures of the Spengler family.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to stream on Hulu this month

Paul Rudd‘s latest Ghostbusters movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, will be available to stream on Hulu later this month. Comic Book.com reports the film will arrive on the platform January 22, 2026. Gil Kenan directed the movie and co-wrote the script with Jason Reitman.

I’m so excited about the new Ghostbusters movie! It’s set in New York City, and we get to see Gary Grooberson and the Spengler family moving into the famous firehouse. They’re trying to get the ghostbusting business back up and running, but things quickly get complicated when they find this really old, mysterious object. It unleashes something super powerful and dangerous, and it looks like it could cause a disaster for the whole world! It’s awesome because the original Ghostbusters and the new team have to work together to save everyone.

The movie stars Paul Rudd as Gary Grooberson, Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler, McKenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler, and Kumail Nanjiani as Nadeem Razmaadi, along with other talented actors.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has received mixed reviews from critics. It currently has a 42% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 304 reviews. However, audiences seem to enjoy the film much more, giving it an 81% score on the site’s Popcornmeter.

Marissa Hill from Shade Studios believes “Frozen Empire” will please fans eager for more classic Ghostbusters action. However, she feels those hoping for a fresh and innovative installment will find it’s a fairly typical and somewhat uninspired sequel.

As a movie fan, I was really happy to see this film do so well! Box Office Mojo says it made over $200 million globally, with around $113 million coming from theaters here in the US and another $88 million from international audiences. It’s great to see a movie connect with people all over the world!
