Selena Gomez’s Embarrassing Mistake at Taylor Swift’s Star-Studded Party Revealed
Reflecting on our journey together, I (as a lifestyle expert) recall an embarrassing incident from the early stages of my relationship with Benny Blanco.
During their discussion about their love story on Spotify’s Countdown To, in anticipation of the release of their album I Said I Love You First on Friday, Blanco, aged 37, recalled their first joint event and asked his fiancée, who is 32, if she could recall that initial gathering they attended together.
Gomez shared that, while he’s not certain it was the first time, the event turned out to be quite amusing. Following an awards ceremony, as a pair, we attended Taylor Swift’s party.
Though eager to take her partner to the glitzy party filled with stars, Gomez immediately wished they had arrived later, as their overly early arrival was quite uncomfortable.
The singer pondered, “It seemed somewhat charming, yet I was deeply embarrassed. It appears that trendy individuals don’t arrive at parties late.
Blanco proceeded to poke fun at his partner for being a stickler for punctuality.
‘At every gathering we attend together, we’re always the early birds. You seem to arrive just like my mom does at a party,’ he playfully joked.
Later on, Blanco pointed out that at the time of the after-party, it was unknown that they were in a relationship, as they had not made it public yet. They were keeping their romance discreet.
Following the announcement of Gomez and Blanco’s engagement, Swift was quick to express her excitement among their circle of friends, playfully offering to serve as the ‘flower girl’ instead.
On Thursday, Blanco also revealed that dating Gomez has made him a Swiftie.
He clarified on Hot Ones that although he had been familiar with Taylor Swift’s music prior to their relationship, it wasn’t until they started dating that he became a dedicated fan or Taylor Swift enthusiast (Swiftie).
He mentioned that he plans to have Gomez play some songs from the last decade that the 14-time Grammy winner produced, whenever they travel together by car.

Swift, who is dating Travis Kelce, and Gomez have been friends for more than 17 years.

Besides these concerts, Selena has unexpectedly joined Taylor during her tour performances, such as the Speak Now and Reputation tours.

In the very same year, there was a brief misunderstanding between Gomez and her friend Francia Raisa, stemming from Gomez being referred to as Francia’s “only industry friend” in an interview with Rolling Stone, which Gomez may have perceived as exclusionary.
It seems that Francia, the person who donated a kidney to Selena, may have had some issues with Selena. However, it’s important to note that Selena, known for her role in Wizards of Waverly Place, explained later on that her comments were directed at the music industry, not necessarily implying any strain in their friendship within the movie and television industries.
Spectators initially suspected tension might be growing due to Francia being omitted from Selena’s documentary “My Mind & Me,” but it appears they are now taking actions to mend their friendship.
