On July 27, the artist behind the popular song “The Hands To Myself” posted a comment on TikTok dismissing rumors that she had undergone plastic surgery.
‘Honestly I hate this. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone,’ she wrote.
In a 2023 video posted by Marissa Barrionuevo, a Florida assistant to plastic surgeons who often shares instructional material about various procedures and frequently offers opinions on celebrities’ possible cosmetic transformations, Selena made her remark.
‘I literally have no idea what she has gotten done,’ said Barrionuevo in the clip.

Following Gomez’s reaction, Barrionuevo apologized directly to her in another video uploaded to TikTok on the 28th of July.
She expressed, “I truly wish there’s no ill-feeling towards me from Selena Gomez. You know, I concur with your perspective that we should give you some space, and I made that clear in my video. I get why you might not be pleased by it yet.”
