Selena Gomez reunites with David Henrie for dinner ahead of the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place conclusion

Selena Gomez and her former co-star David Henrie had dinner together at Giorgio Baldi, an Italian restaurant in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday.

Selena Gomez, now 33, and David Henrie, 36, are well-known for playing magical siblings Alex and Justin Russo on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place. They starred together for four seasons, from 2007 to 2012, and also appeared in two Wizards of Waverly Place movies released in 2009 and 2013.

For the event, Gomez accessorized with a shimmering silver clutch and wore a beige, ruffled top, blue flared jeans, and black sandals with toe rings.

Henrie looked neat and classic in a brown polo shirt and khakis. His wife, Maria Cahill, who was Miss Delaware 2011, wore a loose-fitting white blouse and sandals, comfortably covering her growing baby bump.

This Tuesday marks nine years of marriage for the Catholic couple from Arizona, and they’re thrilled to be welcoming another baby to their family, joining their children Pia (7), James (5), and Gemma (3).

Last Wednesday, young fans were able to tour the Los Angeles set of the Disney Channel show, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. The series will conclude this summer with a final four episodes.

Selena Gomez, founder of Rare Beauty, not only executive produced but also directed the first episode of the series’ finale. The episode also stars Jennifer Stone, Gregg Sulkin, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise, Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, Taylor Cora, and Mimi Gianopulos.

The actor, known from How I Met Your Mother, is friends with Erika Kirk, the CEO of Turning Point, and also leads Novo Inspire Studios. He’s also a paid partner with the Theo: Prayer & Meditation app.

Selena Gomez’s husband, Benny Blanco, wasn’t at the dinner. They got married on September 27th in Santa Barbara, reportedly spending around $4 million on the ceremony at Sea Crest Nursery.

The actress, who won Best Actress at Cannes, had a kidney transplant in 2017 due to lupus, a long-term autoimmune disease, and says this means she’s unable to have children herself.

In a 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez shared that she mourned the fact that significant health problems put both her life and a potential pregnancy at risk.

I’m so grateful there are options like surrogacy and adoption available to me, and I’m really looking forward to exploring them. I know the path to parenthood will be unique for me, and that’s okay. Ultimately, all that matters is that I’ll be a parent.

The Grammy-nominated singer first met the music producer, now 38, in 2008 when she was just 16, during a work meeting. He later produced tracks for her 2015 album, Revival. Although he is Jewish, she did not convert to the faith.

Selena Gomez has previously been linked to Drew Taggart, The Weeknd, and Justin Bieber. Meanwhile, Virginia-born musician Elsie Hewitt, who shares a child with Pete Davidson, was also in a relationship previously.

Last October, Hulu announced it would be making another season – the sixth – of the comedy series Only Murders in the Building, created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Selena Gomez, who plays the character Mabel Mora and also produces the show, reportedly earns more than $600,000 per episode for her work.
