See Simon Cowell Hilariously Admit He Knows Fans Think He Can’t Walk After Constantly Sitting On TV

Simon Cowell is a well-known figure in American television, first becoming famous as a blunt but honest judge on American Idol. He’s more recently been a judge on America’s Got Talent. Because he spends so much time sitting down on these shows, some people have jokingly wondered if he can even walk! He recently addressed these rumors in a funny way, coinciding with the release of his new documentary series, which is now available on Netflix.

The X Factor creator candidly spoke with The Sun‘s Clemmie Moodie, and he addressed the rumors that he doesn’t walk. The buzz started after he was spotted striding down a hallway, and Cowell described the reactions as “so crazy.” He went on:

I worry that without the documentary, people might assume I never leave my desk. It shows I actually walk around a lot, despite spending time working at a computer.

The idea that Simon Cowell might not be able to walk seems less surprising than the rumors about Lea Michele being unable to read. Anyone who watches America’s Got Talent regularly can see that he stands and moves around just fine – whether it’s for standing ovations or even taking part in the show’s stunts, like using a crossbow.

Despite being a television personality, he spends much of his screen time seated at a desk, operating equipment – and occasionally hitting a golden buzzer. The initial focus on his bike accident quickly died down. However, he did acknowledge something fans often suspect about him, stating:

I have the big heel so I can be a bit taller… Probably about an inch, inch and a half.

Simon Cowell is known for being on his feet, and he often appears taller than he is! In the six-episode Netflix docuseries, Simon Cowell: The Next Act, which debuted on December 10th, he shared how the show allowed viewers to see a different side of him – one not confined to a desk.

Simon Cowell’s new show initially appeared to be a competitor to singing contests like American Idol and The Voice. However, it hasn’t attracted enough viewers to become one of Netflix’s top 10 shows in the U.S. Currently, Sean Combs: The Reckoning is the most popular show, having knocked Stranger Things (now at #3) from the #1 spot. Man vs. Baby, featuring Rowan Atkinson, is also in the top rankings.

It’s currently unknown if Netflix will renew Simon Cowell: The Next Act. The show could either continue its search for the next big boy band, or follow the artists discovered in the first season. However, if the show does return, Cowell will likely be much more involved on his feet, rather than just sitting at a desk.
