See Adele’s ruthless demolition of Hollywood icon’s Mediterranean-style mansion in $50m rebuild, leaving only his statue standing… for now

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen a lot of celebrity homes, and this one is a real transformation! Sylvester Stallone’s former Mediterranean-style mansion in Beverly Park is almost unrecognisable now. Adele has completely reimagined the property with some seriously ambitious renovation plans – it’s a total makeover!

The Grammy-winning singer has completely renovated the home she purchased from the actor in 2022, removing almost all evidence of its previous owner, as seen in photos obtained by Daily Mail.

This renovation is becoming one of the most extensive and expensive celebrity home makeovers in Los Angeles, potentially costing over $50 million – about the same amount the owner originally paid for the property four years ago.

The last remaining original part of the property is the famous swimming pool, which still features the statue of Stallone as Rocky, with his fist raised in a victorious pose.

It breaks my heart to even look at it now! The water used to be so unbelievably clear, but now it’s all… green and cloudy, like someone dumped algae in it. They’re building everywhere, and it’s just ruining everything. It’s not even the same place anymore, honestly.

Sylvester Stallone’s home has a classic Mediterranean design with terracotta tiles, while Adele’s is very modern and will largely be made of floor-to-ceiling windows, a feature she can enjoy thanks to the property’s privacy.

For the past ten years, a large construction project has been underway at the property, with a team of workers and at least a dozen vehicles present daily. The builders have essentially created a temporary base of operations there.

The mammoth job is being handled by celebrity construction company Valle Reinis.

Leigh Ann Raines, a high-end renovation specialist and owner of Chic By Design, estimates the renovations will cost the musician tens of millions of dollars.

She purchased the property in January 2022, and renovations began immediately. The extensive remodel is expected to take around five more years to finish.

She estimates the total cost of the completed and furnished home will likely be around the same as its purchase price—over $50 million.

‘It may be another five years, easily another three, from completion.

With the roof now completed, we’re starting work on the inside of the house. Finishing a home of this size and quality takes time and careful attention to detail, so we won’t be rushing the process.

This is a large-scale project. The main house on the property has been completely rebuilt within the original boundaries.

The design-build team, with Valle Reinis involved, will work closely with the couple to ensure every detail reflects their vision.

The property is in a ‘very high’ fire hazard severity zone and needs special cool roof materials.

According to Raines, the fires in Pacific Palisades in January 2025 caused widespread damage, destroying thousands of homes. This has likely created delays for projects like Adele’s new house, as the area competes for limited skilled workers following the disaster.

From my experience with home renovations – and I’ve seen a lot! – I’ve found that tackling a major overhaul often ends up costing more and taking much longer than simply buying something already built. It’s a common surprise, but a really important thing to consider when you’re weighing your options.

Adele’s put together an extensive top design and building team.

Sylvia Kuhle is an architect and partner at Standard Architecture. She oversaw the design of notable projects like the Phare Tower in Paris, the Children’s Museum of Los Angeles, and the Forest Knoll Residence, which sold for $23.225 million in 2021.

Derek Wavering, a structural engineer specializing in high-end, custom homes in Beverly Hills, is also part of the team.
