Secret Level’s latest episode The Way Of All Things, features Yi Xing’s backstory
If you’re not aware, the new animated series called “Secret Level” made its debut on December 10, 2024. This adult-oriented show was brought to life by Tim Miller and offers unique tales spun from popular video game universes. The lineup includes stories from PC games, PlayStation, as well as mobile games like Honor of Kings and Warhammer 40,000. Their latest episode, titled “The Way Of All Things,” is inspired by the game Honor of Kings.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that this episode presents a fresh character named Yi Xing. We delve deep into his past, where we discover his journey from learning the tactical game of Weiqi, which he eventually mastered, to his heroic act of saving the city of Chang’an by triumphing in a pivotal match. The Chinese aesthetic animation style breathes life into these captivating tales with an ethereal grace.
Yi Xing brings a diverse set of skills to the HOK battlefield
Now you have the opportunity to learn and excel with the latest addition to the Honor of Kings lineup, the Mage character named Yi Xing. Here’s a breakdown of his abilities:
- Kiai: With this skill, you can periodically become immune to lethal damage while applying an Anti Qi mark on the enemy. This enhances your abilities making them more effective.
- Joseki: You can place a Weiqi counter at a designated location, which provides you vision of that location for three seconds and deals magic damage to that area.
- Atari: With this skill you can deal magic damage to any target area which then spreads into a Weiqi formation that pulls enemies within the central area, dealing more damage.
- Capture: You can trap enemy heroes by creating an empty Weigi board.

Yi Xing appears to be an engaging character to handle, featuring gameplay reminiscent of Weiqi strategy. Position him effectively in the mid-lane, where he shines by offering team support during battles. Furthermore, his extensive crowd control and burst damage abilities can significantly shift the tide of the game. Lastly, consider allying him with Lu Bu, as their collaboration results in powerful attacks against opponents.
