Sebastian Stan Calls Out David Harbour’s Hilarious Nut Obsession on Thunderbolts Red Carpet!

Critics have highly commended “Thunderbolts” (also known as The New Avengers), and I too am fond of this movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite being eager for its release in 2025, what has truly captured my interest is the promotional tour. On this tour, the talented cast has been dishing out behind-the-scenes facts, which they’ve continued to do even at the film’s red carpet premiere. For instance, Sebastian Stan playfully called out his colleague David Harbour for his nut obsession. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time an actor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought up a fellow star’s fondness for nuts.

At a typical movie premiere, actors might be asked amusing questions, but it’s hard to guess that nuts would become a topic on the Thunderbolts red carpet. Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes in the film, was questioned about enjoyable moments from behind the scenes. In an Instagram post by Marvel Studios, it was revealed that David Harbour, who portrays Alexei Shostakov in the movie, allegedly put cashews and almonds into his costume. Interestingly, Harbour jokingly spoke about his “habit” or “addiction” regarding this incident separately.

Couldn’t we understand why the Stranger Things actor has such a fondness for nuts, given his explanation about their protein content? After all, I too appreciate a handful of salted peanuts now and then. It’s not hard to see why we share a common interest in that regard. (Though, it’s possible I might have an excessive affection for Sour Patch Kids, but let’s save that topic for another discussion.)

In summary, the ongoing debate about nuts among the cast of the Thunderbolts series is a clear demonstration of the friendly camaraderie within this group. Particularly entertaining for me has been observing David Harbour and Sebastian Stan’s playful banter over the last few weeks. Interestingly, I had hoped their latest MCU film would delve deeper into the dynamics between their characters. Though it remains uncertain whether that will occur in future Marvel movies, I am gratified to see these actors sharing a lighthearted rapport off-screen.

Anthony Mackie once playfully advised David Harbour about working with Sebastian Stan. Years later, it turns out that the advice Mackie gave, which involved giving Stan some almond butter and chatting with him, has come full circle in a rather amusing twist.

The three actors mentioned earlier are all involved in the upcoming movie “Avengers: Doomsday“, scheduled for release in 2026. While it’s uncertain how their roles will overlap during production of this epic film, there’s a strong possibility they’ll create some hilarious moments during the promotional tour. And who knows what humorous secrets might be revealed at that time!

It’s quite possible that David Harbour’s love for nuts and Sebastian Stan’s taste for almond butter could reemerge in their shared scenes. Or, if not, I can’t help but smile at the idea of them joking around about various amusing subjects during interviews for a future film they’re promoting together.

Don’t miss “Thunderbolts,” currently showing in cinemas across the country. Meanwhile, consider subscribing to Disney+ to catch multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe films and series streaming online.
