Sebastian Stan Breaks Silence on Blake Lively Drama—Are They Still Friends After Gossip Girl?

Sebastian Stan has recently expressed his thoughts regarding his relationship with Blake Lively, his former Gossip Girl co-star, as she manages the aftermath of her ongoing court cases.

On Thursday, during a press event for Marvel’s Thunderbolts, the Oscar-nominated actor (age 42), who portrayed the rebellious character Carter Baizen in 11 episodes of a teen drama from 2007 to 2010, shared insights about his experiences with the cast.

The popular TV show on the CW network turned Emily Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, and Chace Crawford into stars. However, it appears that Sebastian maintains contact with just a handful of them.

He shared with E! News that he communicates frequently with Chace. In fact, their friendship predates Gossip Girl, which has kept them connected. As for Penn Badgley, they collaborated on a podcast at some point, but it’s Chace who is particularly close to him.

Followers recall that Stan had a romantic relationship with his co-star Leighton from 2008 to 2010, and at one point, he referred to her as his first love.

It seems from his latest remarks that Leighton, together with Ed and Blake, may no longer be part of his close group.

Stan’s remarks are made as Blake, aged 37, finds herself entangled in a tumultuous legal conflict with her fellow actor and director of “It Ends With Us”, Justin Baldoni.

Her public appearances, such as the premiere of Another Simple Favor on Sunday afternoon in New York City, are being affected by ongoing legal issues, causing tension to spill over.

Attentive viewers spotted an unintentional cosmetic blunder – dark stains on her underarms, likely caused by the makeup transferring onto her gown.

Online commenters wasted no time pointing out the blunder.

‘The body makeup on the side of the corset,’ one wrote with a shocked emoji. 

‘The gasp I GUSPED,’ another replied. 

A third commented regretfully, ‘Sadly, there’s a spray tan stain on the dress.’ The fourth chimed in with a sigh, ‘What a shame! Once seen, can never be forgotten!’

Regardless of a popular fashion incident, Blake and fellow actor Anna Kendrick, aged 39, were seen snuggling together on the red carpet, holding hands, apparently trying to dispel persistent rumors about their supposed disagreement by posing affectionately.

Anna left everyone speechless, sporting a chic cropped white blouse and coordinating high-waisted trousers, while they eagerly announced the upcoming release of its sequel on Amazon Prime Video, set for May 1st.

Still, whispers of tension persist.

Reports indicate that a disagreement arose between the actresses regarding who should receive top billing in “It Ends With Us,” and it seems Anna is disappointed because Blake’s legal issues are drawing more attention away from their ongoing project.

The rumor mill continued to churn following Anna’s enigmatic remark during her SXSW appearance in March, when she was questioned about potential future collaborations with Blake.

‘Oh, you know…’ she answered while signing autographs, dodging further comment.

Later on, the source clarified to E! News, ‘No conflict exists between them. Instead, they are colleagues who also enjoy a friendship, and their relationship remains amicable.’

Additionally, present at the premiere on Sunday was Blake’s spouse, Ryan Reynolds, aged 48, who sported a stylish grey suit and brown shoes while accompanying her on the red carpet.

However, their dynamic drew some raised eyebrows. 

At an open gathering, Blake was captured on camera passionately expressing herself towards Ryan, with both hands speaking volumes, as he stood beside her, his eyes showing surprise, followed by a self-conscious departure from the scene.

Body language analyst Judi James provided insights to DailyMail, stating: ‘Blake often gives explicit hand signals to Ryan during red carpet events, which not only reveals her knack for controlling the scene, but also shows Ryan’s submissive and attentive responses that give an impression of him eagerly following instructions, like a nose buried in a human-shaped fan.’
