Sean Bean’s new series on MGM+ is starting to lose momentum on streaming charts. After a strong first season that ended in December, the show had been at the top, but is now beginning to drop in popularity.
According to FlixPatrol, the new series Robin Hood, featuring Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen, Connie Nielsen, and Bean, has moved to fourth place on the list of most-watched shows on MGM+ in the United States. While it’s a two-spot drop, it’s not a huge change, especially since Robin Hood remains incredibly popular on MGM+ worldwide.
Jonathan English and John Glenn created the series and also serve as executive producers, alongside Todd Lieberman. The show centers on Robin Hood – played by Kevin Spacey – and his fight against the Normans who killed his father. He sparks a rebellion with the help of Marian of Huntingdon (Lauren McQueen), the daughter of a Norman earl who decides to fight against her own people.
As a film buff, I was really impressed with the cast they assembled for Robin Hood. You’ve got Lydia Peckham playing Priscilla of Nottingham, and Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon. Plus, Connie Nielsen shows up as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, and Angus Castle-Doughty is fantastic as Friar Tuck. They also have Marcus Fraser as Little John – or John Nailer, as he’s known in the film – and, of course, Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Rounding out the main group are Henry Rowley as Will Gamewill and Erica Ford as Rosemary Miller, who goes by ‘Ralph’ in the story.
The new series Robin Hood, released in November 2025, has been well-received by both critics and viewers. Currently, Rotten Tomatoes gives it a “Fresh” rating of 77% based on 13 reviews. Viewers also seem to enjoy it, giving it an 81% score on the site’s “Popcornmeter” based on over 100 user reviews.
