An initial picture of the latest Robin Hood movie, featuring Sean Bean and Connie Nielsen, has been made public.
This year, MGM+ will unveil an exciting modern retelling of a legendary character from British folklore, focused on drama.
The press release characterizes the show as an intelligent, broad-reaching, romantic journey that infuses historical accuracy, emotional complexity, and a special emphasis on the bond between Rob and Marian into the classic tale.
As a die-hard fan, I have to clarify that contrary to the popular perception of them portraying Robin Hood and Maid Marian, they actually play the roles of the Sheriff of Nottingham and Eleanor of Aquitaine in our favorite tale, each character adding an intriguing twist to the story.
In the initial preview, the pair can be seen portrayed as characters, providing a sneak peek into the intense conflicts and significant power struggles that are central to this fresh interpretation.

In this production, Jack Patton and ex-star of “Hollyoaks,” Lauren McQueen take on roles as Robin and Marian. Additionally, Lydia Peckham, Steven Waddington, Marcus Fraser, Henry Rowley, and another alumnus from “Hollyoaks” named Angus Castle-Doughty are also part of the cast.
In a more casual and conversational tone: Off-camera, John Glenn from SEAL Team takes on the role of showrunner, while Jonathan English, known for his work on Librarians: The Next Chapter, steps up as the director. Both of them not only supervise the production but also co-write and share executive producer duties on the show together.

After the Norman conquest of England, Rob, son of a Saxon woodland worker, and Marian, daughter of a Norman noble, develop feelings for each other and join forces to uphold justice and liberty.
As Rob ascends to lead a group of rebellious outlaws, Marian gains access to the royal court’s inner circle, with each playing their part to combat corruption within the monarchy and restore tranquility to the realm.
In these coming months, MGM+’s content, including Robin Hood, will be accessible for streaming not only in the United Kingdom but also in Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This channel is available as a supplementary option on Amazon Prime Video.
The latest print edition of Digital Spy has arrived! You can purchase the Oasis – Live in ’25’ issue from newsstands or online, available for only £8.99.
