Scrubs Reboot Sets Return For Two Of OG Show’s Longest-Running Stars

Two familiar faces are returning to the halls of Sacred Heart in Scrubs.

The new Scrubs series will premiere on ABC on February 25th, bringing back several original cast members. Zach Braff will return as J.D., Donald Faison as Turk, and Sarah Chalke as Elliot. Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley will also reappear as Carla and Dr. Cox, though their roles will be recurring.

According to Deadline, the upcoming Scrubs reboot will feature Neil Flynn and Christa Miller returning as their beloved characters, the Janitor and Jordan. While it’s not yet known how many episodes they’ll appear in, they join Robert Maschio (as The Todd) and Phill Lewis (as Dr. Hooch) who are also reprising their roles.

News about Miller and Flynn returning came alongside an announcement of three new guest stars: Rachel Bilson (known from The O.C.) will play a captivating guest named Charlie, Andy Ridings (The Other Two) will appear as Wes, a pilot delivering organs for transplant, and Lisa Gilroy (Twisted Metal season 2) will play Lily, a harpist who performs in the lobby.

John C. McGinley played the Janitor, J.D.’s rival, in 170 episodes of Scrubs. He started as a guest star and later became a main cast member for seasons 2 through 8. Christa Miller, who played Dr. Cox’s ex-wife and eventual love interest, was also a consistent presence throughout the show, though she wasn’t a main cast member.

Jordan joined the show in the sixth episode of the first season and appeared in a total of 90 episodes. This makes her the 11th longest-serving cast member, following only the six main stars, Ken Jenkins (as Dr. Kelso), Neil Flynn, Robert Maschio (who appeared in 128 episodes), Sam Lloyd as the often-unlucky lawyer Ted Buckland (95 episodes), and Aloma Wright as nurses Laverne and Shirley (92 episodes).

With the addition of Neil Flynn and Christa Miller, the Scrubs reboot now has almost all of the original cast back – specifically, everyone except two of the actors who appeared in over 50 episodes. Sadly, Sam Lloyd passed away in 2020.
