Scream star’s new Valentine’s Day slasher gets bloody first trailer
The initial blood-soaked trailer for the upcoming Valentine’s Day slasher film, featuring Mason Gooding as one of the stars from “Scream 6”, has been unveiled.
In a thrilling turn of events, I’m absolutely ecstatic about the upcoming film titled “Heart Eyes“. This captivating production brings together an exceptional cast that includes none other than the talented Cuba Gooding Jr., who starred in “Cruel Summer” fame. Additionally, we have the mesmerizing Olivia Holt, known for her role in “Cruel Summer”. The charismatic Gigi Zumbado from “The Real Bros of Simi Valley” also graces our screens, and lastly, the brilliant Michaela Watkins, remembered for her role in “Dinner with the Parents“. Can’t wait to see this ensemble bring this story to life!
Also part of the cast are Devon Sawa, known for his roles in “Final Destination” and “Idle Hands”, along with Jordana Brewster, a familiar face from the “Fast & Furious” series.
Under the direction of Josh Ruben and written by Philip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy, the movie titled “Heart Eyes” revolves around a murderer who targets couples on Valentine’s Day.
Over the last few years, a notorious serial killer known as ‘Heart Eyes’ has terrorized Valentine’s Day by targeting and killing loving couples. This year, it seems that no couple can escape his grasp on this special day.
The upcoming horror movie, produced by Christopher Landon, Greg Gilreath, and Adam Hendricks, is set to hit American theaters on February 7th. The release date for the UK has not been announced as of now.
In the trailer, it becomes apparent that Gooding’s character and Holt’s characters develop a romantic relationship. Later in the story, they find themselves relaxing in a room reminiscent of Sidney Prescott’s bedroom from “Scream.” Suddenly, the Heart Eyes Killer emerges from the wardrobe, causing pandemonium to break loose.
The murderer wears a chilling mask adorned with heart-shaped eyeholes in pink, making it look eerie. When the lights dim, the eyes on the mask start glowing, adding to its ominous atmosphere.
In the latest sneak peek, it seems I’ll be stepping into the shoes of a detective duo alongside Sawa, as we’re on a mission to nab a killer. Brewster’s character describes him as a twisted version of Cupid, hinting at some intriguing quirks in our villain.
In a chilling sequence, the culprit pursues Gooding and Holt through iconic spooky settings like an old, deserted amusement park and a drive-in movie theater. The scene seems to build towards a climactic confrontation.
The trailer ends with the particularly gruesome sword death of a couple in a camper van.
Heart Eyes releases in US cinemas on February 7. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
