Scott Speedman reveals how he gets in trouble on Grey’s Anatomy set
As a long-time fan of Grey’s Anatomy, it’s always a delight to see familiar faces returning to the show. Scott Speedman’s portrayal of Dr. Nick Marsh has been a fan favorite, and his recent revelation about getting corrections during surgery scenes just adds to the charm of his character. It’s like being back in medical school all over again!
Returning Grey’s Anatomy star Scott Speedman has revealed why he gets in trouble on the show’s set.
This season, Speedman returns to portray Dr. Nick Marsh once more in the medical drama series, giving audiences another chance to witness him at work in the operating room again.
In an interview with Jessica Shaw on Sirius XM’s “The Spotlight,” Speedman admitted that occasionally, during filming of surgical scenes, he receives corrections from the production team.
He mentioned that during his surgeries, there’s always one woman who scolds him, and he finds this amusing. It adds an exciting element to his work because if things go wrong, as they sometimes do, she’s quick to point it out, but overall, it’s enjoyable experiencing that dynamic.
He remained light-hearted while describing his faulty surgery technique, as he praised Grey’s Anatomy consultants for how seriously they take medical depictions in the show.
He clarified by saying, “It seems to be the way I’m gripping an object, or maybe I’m performing a task incorrectly, or perhaps I misunderstood the instructions given.” Then, as if demonstrating, he added, “She steps in and corrects me, ‘You’re not doing that correctly.’
“It seems like you’re attempting to engage in conversation on topics that are unfamiliar to you, and yet you’re doing so with a rather grave demeanor.
It became known in August that the character Speedman portrays, Nick, would be featured in at least five episodes of Grey’s Anatomy‘s 21st season for a rekindling of his romantic storyline with Dr. Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo).
In the newer episodes, Pompeo has boosted her on-screen presence, having initially stepped down as a permanent cast member for “Grey’s Anatomy” after its 19th season. However, she has remained the voiceover narrator for the show during her break from acting in it.
Showrunner Meg Marinis of the series “Grey’s Anatomy” has spoken about a significant adjustment in store – the possibility of depicting more intimate and sensual moments, given the shift to airing at 10:00 PM.
As a gamer diving into uncharted territories for the very first time at 10 pm, I’m ready to test the limits as far as they’ll allow. Yet, rest assured, the essence of this experience will remain intact. After all, it’s not just about pushing boundaries; it’s about preserving the core essence of what we’ve started.
Grey’s Anatomy” is broadcast on ABC in the United States every Thursday at 10pm Eastern Time. If you haven’t caught up with previous seasons, you can find them streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
