Following Mills’ dismissal, broadcasting executives confessed they knew about the police investigation while he was still employed, although they weren’t fully informed of all the specifics. They also disclosed that a deliberate choice was made to continue broadcasting him, even though he earned at least £355,000 annually.

The company suffered more embarrassment after the Metropolitan Police told the Daily Mail that officers had contacted the BBC ‘several times’ over the years.

Mills reportedly continued communicating with the person who made the complaint until 2006, and it’s claimed their relationship remained friendly, with many people aware of it. He has instructed lawyers at a London firm called Level regarding his dismissal, but hasn’t taken any legal steps so far.

In a single statement released through his lawyers, Mills expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who had contacted him, saying he was thankful ‘from the bottom of my heart’.

Although the images are disturbing, they reveal a positive aspect for Mills: the unwavering public support of Vaughan, who has remained loyal throughout this situation.

The couple first connected in 2016 at a radio awards ceremony in Wales and recently married in Barcelona in June 2024. The wedding was attended by many famous faces, including Ms Ball, Rylan Clark, and Calvin Harris.
