Police questioned Scott Mills, a former host on BBC Radio 2, in 2018 as part of an investigation into sexual offenses.
In 2018, the Metropolitan Police questioned musician Shiloh Mills about accusations of serious sexual offenses against a boy who was under 16 at the time, as reported by the BBC.
The investigation was closed because police couldn’t find enough evidence. They had looked into claims against a man in his 40s, related to events that supposedly happened between 1997 and 2000.

An investigation started in 2016 to look into the claims, but it ended in 2019 when prosecutors decided there wasn’t enough proof to file charges.
I was really shocked to hear that Mills was fired from his job yesterday. Apparently, the company had been looking into some claims about his behavior, and that’s what led to it.
The BBC hasn’t commented further on the claims, and it’s still unknown if the police investigation had anything to do with his departure.

Scott Mills has left the BBC after an investigation into his personal behavior. A BBC spokesperson stated they don’t discuss individual staff matters, but confirmed Mills is no longer under contract.
After more than 25 years at the BBC, Mills hosted BBC Radio 2’s breakfast show, taking over from Zoe Ball in January 2025. He presented his last show on Tuesday, March 24th.
Lorna Clarke, BBC Head of Music, informed staff that Scott Mills has left both the Breakfast show and the BBC in a recent internal message.

Wow, this news really came out of the blue, and honestly, it’s a huge shock. So many of us have worked with Scott for years – across so much of what we do on Radio 1, 5 Live, Radio 2, and even on TV. It’s hard to believe!
I wanted to let you know right away. This news will likely be surprising for our viewers and listeners, too. I’ll share more details about the show’s future as soon as I can.
I know you probably have questions, but I won’t be saying anything else at this time, they finished.
Digital Spy contacted representatives for Mills and the BBC for more information, but they didn’t have anything new to share beyond what they’d already said.
