Scott Mills Reveals Shocking Childfree Truth
Scott Mills shared the reason behind his inability to envision parenthood, discussing his domestic life with partner Sam Vaughan and opening up about their family dynamics.
Since 2017, the 52-year-old host of BBC Radio 2 and the 36-year-old producer have been romantically involved. They exchanged vows at a breathtaking Mediterranean villa in Barcelona not long ago.
Currently, the celebrity shared with The Mirror that expanding the family isn’t a high priority at this moment.
He shared: “I have a dog, and I’m finding myself waking up early quite often, as I rise at 4 am these days. Contrary to that, I absolutely adore being an uncle; I consider myself the best one out there.
‘I’ll give you the finest gifts, showering you with all the love the world has to offer; however, waking up at 4am and caring for children is something I can’t fathom. It’s simply beyond me. My hat goes off to those who do it, as I already have enough challenges tending to one dog.’
He added: “I get to engage in fun activities as an uncle. Sam’s sibling has a three-year-old nephew named Fred, so I got to take him to the Paddington Experience which is just wonderful. You can do amazing things like this and then you can say goodbye. For now, that seems sufficient.

After Scott had defended his BBC salary, following his lifetime pursuit of the ideal role.
Last year, when Zoe Ball decided to step down, the broadcaster replaced her as the host of the esteemed Radio 2 Morning Show, a position he now holds.
Scott reportedly took a small pay rise and earns £450,000 a year which is far below Zoe’s £950,000.
The dramatic pay difference comes as BBC bosses are under ‘enormous pressure’ to cut back on costs.
After playing a prolonged strategy and initially making only £20, it’s difficult for others to argue that he hasn’t put in effort.
Scott shared with The Sun’s Bizarre: ‘I’ve been performing since I was sixteen, and let me tell you what my pay was back then – twenty pounds per show. Keep in mind that it was a five-hour performance happening during the late hours, from 1 am to 6 am.’
He went on to say: ‘It’s not as if a high-flyer has arrived and is raking in all this money. Instead, it’s a private matter that everyone prefers to keep quiet about.’
I believe it’s inaccurate to suggest I haven’t played the long game. I hope nobody will conclude that I didn’t put in a lot of effort towards this achievement, as I’ve been working diligently on it for my entire life.
In another setting, I shared my heartfelt response upon being informed that I’d secured the coveted position as the host for the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

The longtime radio host, who is now handing over his weekday slot from 2 pm to 4 pm to Trevor Nelson, vividly remembered receiving the news about his new position and shared: “I shed tears in my bathrobe. I couldn’t help but sob deeply.
In an interview with The Mirror, he mentioned that the news brought a bittersweet feeling as he pondered over his 35-year career in radio.
After I managed to compose myself from my crying spell, I found myself in a deep, contemplative state of thinking, “Ah, I recall feeling a touch of sadness about not landing The Radio 1 Breakfast Show. Yet, if I had secured it at that time, would I be in the place I am today?
People are sending me numerous messages saying, “At 55, I find it inspiring to witness your success and peak performance, as it gives me hope that I too can achieve my best at this stage in life.
Indeed, what’s happening is real, something I hadn’t anticipated. Yet here I am, reveling in the pinnacle of my career at this stage in life.
Last year, Zoe Ball presented her last episode as a host for The Breakfast Show following her decision to prioritize her family after six years of service in that role.
With a tremble in his voice, Ball expressed, ‘Wow, this one’s for everyone here who’s paid attention, all those present, as well as my precious children. This song is ‘Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)’, by the remarkable Frank Wilson.’
At the conclusion of her three-hour broadcast, Ball bid farewell to her audience with a call for female strength and empowerment.
As a seasoned lifestyle guide, I often remind my audience that they possess limitless potential. In essence, what I share is, ‘Never forget, ladies, there’s nothing you can’t accomplish.’

She started off her farewell note by expressing it was an authentic honor to be the show’s host. She went on to commend the unique, close bond she shared with the audience, describing it as if they were simply having a friendly conversation with an old friend.
Ball expressed: “It’s truly an honor to work on this program, succeeding remarkable individuals like Terry and Chris, who set high standards. It’s quite exciting to be the initial female host, but I’m confident there will be more. Always remember, ladies, you are capable of achieving anything.
To our beloved stars tuning into our Breakfast Show – the young and the old, as well as everyone in between – thank you for joining us. Whether you listen alone, with family, on a group outing during your morning jogs, dog walks, truck rides, work commutes, or even hiding under the covers, it’s been an honor to accompany you through your daily routines.
You seem to be present, while I’m engaged in a friendly conversation with someone close by. This bond we share is truly unique and profound, marked by our shared experiences of life’s ups and downs. It’s always remarkable to me how we’ve navigated these moments side by side.
With a chuckle, she reminisced about years filled with “plenty of laughter, tomfoolery, only a few tears, many songs sung, and dances danced,” and added, “Scott [Mills will take good care of you in the upcoming year.
She continued with a reference to Paul Williams’ popular song: “You return more love when you give a little, and I can feel that love from all of you. I’m sending a boatload of love right back to you. Be gentle with yourselves, dear friends, for I consider each one of you special.
