Scott Mills faces latest blow as he is removed from the line-up of major summer concert after radio star was sacked by BBC

Scott Mills has been dropped from a major summer concert, marking another setback following his dismissal from the BBC. This concert was one of his few remaining scheduled events.

The DJ who previously hosted the Radio 2 Breakfast Show will no longer perform at Ibiza Symphonica. This decision follows a serious allegation of sexual offences from the past.

Last month, it was revealed that 53-year-old Mills, who was fired by the broadcaster after an investigation into his behavior, was scheduled to DJ at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate on August 15th.

After being unexpectedly fired by the BBC – a move that followed a police investigation seven years prior into alleged sexual offenses involving a minor, which was later dropped – event organizers have decided to remove him from the event’s official schedule and are now looking for someone to take his place.

They’ve also criticized Mills’ team for not keeping them informed since the scandal at the BBC became public.

Following reports in the media about Scott Mills, the organization has decided not to include him in future programming.

Ibiza Symphonica is a fundraising event created to benefit the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, a charity dedicated to supporting farmers and rural communities in Yorkshire, according to event organizers who spoke with the Daily Mail.

As someone who’s dedicated to creating memorable experiences, I always believe it’s crucial to show respect to everyone involved – the event organizers, the venue staff, the amazing charity we’re supporting, and all the other performers and partners who’ve been so collaborative. But above all else, my top priority is ensuring our guests have the absolute best time possible. That’s what truly matters!

We carefully considered this decision, aiming to be fair and respectful of everyone involved.

As a long-time supporter, it became clear to me that we couldn’t ignore the serious concerns being raised publicly. Seeing other similar organizations reassess their involvement, and especially with management completely unresponsive to our inquiries – we didn’t even know if our event was still on! – we reached a point where doing nothing was more harmful than trying to address the situation. It was a really tough decision, but we felt we had no choice.

We’re working on finding a replacement and are excited to announce another performer soon, as scheduled. The event will feature a fantastic lineup of talented artists, including some of the country’s most beloved performers, and we’re looking forward to putting on a great show for Yorkshire on August 15th.

This event features incredible singers performing Ibiza’s biggest hits from the past thirty years, backed by a full live orchestra.

Scott was scheduled to share the stage with Heather Small from M People, Rebecca Ferguson, and Alison Limerick.

This will be the first outdoor concert at the Great Yorkshire Showground in over a decade, since Elton John performed there in 2012.

Okay, so things have shifted with the event – we’ve completely refreshed the visuals to reflect the new direction. And, to make a clean break, we’ve also removed all mentions of the previous collaborator, Mills, from the website. It’s all about presenting a unified and current image now!

Honestly, it’s been a tough week! Just when you think things are settling down, another piece of news breaks. I was surprised to learn that Arsenal actually removed all references to Danny Mills from their website. It happened right after it was announced he’d be DJing at the Boyzone concerts at the Emirates this summer – quite a swift move, really.

I’m so excited! Boyzone is doing ‘Two For The Road’ concerts at the Emirates on June 5th and 6th, and I was really looking forward to seeing Mills perform at both shows. S Club and B*Witched are also on the lineup as support acts each night, which is amazing!

Mills shared their excitement about performing for the team this summer, promising two nights filled with great music, sing-alongs, and a throwback to the 90s. They encouraged fans to get ready for a fantastic experience!

Channel 4 has cancelled his appearance on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer, which was originally scheduled to air on April 19th.

The BBC also took down a plaque honoring Steve Mills from the Radio 1 studio in London. The silver plaque had been presented to him when he left Radio 1 in 2022, and the studio – 82A – had been informally renamed in his honor as ‘82 Mills’.

I seriously can’t believe it – he was the voice of Radio 1 for, like, 24 years! From ’98 to 2022, he basically was the station, and now he’s moved over to Radio 2 to host their big breakfast show? It’s amazing, honestly. I’m so excited to hear him every morning now!

Oh my gosh, I still can’t believe it! Our Ken Bruce was getting paid between £355,000 and almost £360,000 a year by the BBC, which, honestly, he deserved! And then, in 2025, he took over the Radio 2 breakfast show from Zoe Ball! It was the best news ever, seriously. I’ve been listening religiously ever since!

His permanent replacement to host the show is yet to be announced.

The Mail has approached Mills’ representatives for comment.
