Scott Cam Finally Sells Long-Time Listing After Price Slash: Details Revealed!

Scott Cam has finally offloaded his property after it languished on the market for over a year.

During the 2022 season of “The Block: Tree Change,” Cam undertook a luxurious renovation project on a vacation property. By October 2023, this property was listed for sale, with an asking price ranging from $4.1 million to $4.3 million.

In late 2024, the TV host who is 62 years old reduced the cost of the stunning historic home from $3.8 million to $3.9 million.

It finally sold this month for an undisclosed sum, the Herald Sun reported on Sunday.

Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Gisborne South, some 49 kilometers away from Melbourne, I find myself captivated by a charming cottage nestled on a sprawling 4.04-hectare estate. The serene rural backdrop cradles this delightful hideaway, making it an idyllic haven for any nature enthusiast like myself.

Constructed as a farmhouse back in 1866, the dwelling still showcases several characteristic elements from that era, such as a spacious veranda encircling it.

Cam’s residence, famously known as Camalot, showcases a breathtaking fountain, a 3D-printed cabana made of concrete by the swimming pool, and an outdoor kitchen equipped with a pizza oven for culinary delight.

This spacious four-bedroom house boasts an expansive kitchen featuring a repurposed wooden countertop (island bench) and chopping block, as well as two wine coolers and a generous-sized butler’s pantry.

Cam’s design aesthetic beautifully blends rustic allure with contemporary enhancements, showcased through the use of stone and fashionable wood accents.

Notable features encompass French-style sliding doors, a well-designed open concept floor plan, and top-of-the-line modern appliances.

There’s also an al fresco dining space, a mud room and a private office.

In 2202, the Block Auction concluded disastrously as merely two properties surpassed the minimum bid of $4.3 million.

Omar Slaimankhel and Ozman ‘Oz’ Abu Malik successfully earned an astonishing $1.6 million in profit from the sale of their property during the auction.

Following news that the presenter of The Block is planning to put away his carpenter’s tools and step down from hosting The Block after 14 years in the role.

The television presenter, now 62, assumed hosting duties from Jamie Durie in 2010 during the third season, has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the contestants more recently.

According to Woman’s Day, Scott has decided to retire in 2025; however, Nine claims this is not accurate.

A source claims that during the filming of season 20, Scott mentioned his intention to retire, stating that he would continue with the show for just “this year and the next.

When Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey left the show unexpectedly halfway through, it took him by surprise and only strengthened his resolve to depart in 2025, they mentioned.

Scott cherishes The Block deeply and can’t fathom why someone would abandon their role in the popular series, given the intensely personal choice they made.

Initially, the plan was to shoot The Block in Daylesford this year, but issues with obtaining necessary permits from the council caused a delay, moving the renovation to next year instead.

At the eleventh hour, producers hastily acquired an outdated resort situated on Philip Island, shelling out a significant sum of $9.5 million for Island Cove Villas.

As a die-hard admirer, let me share my understanding from the inside scoop: I was genuinely crushed when Scott learned that Daylesford wouldn’t be the hosting location for this season. You see, he had his heart set on it, hoping to host the event and gracefully step aside afterwards.

Last year, Scott openly discussed the speculations surrounding his potential departure from the popular renovation show on Nine with Daily Mail Australia.

At a debut event for the 2023 season of his television program, the former builder who now hosts shows shared with the audience that he intends to remain for an extended period.

2 months back, I sealed a long-term contract with the Nine Network. Making this choice was effortless because I have a deep affection for this show and can’t imagine being part of any other.’ He expressed this sentiment.

Later on, Scott mentioned that he didn’t have any imminent retirement plans; however, there was a specific individual whom he envisioned would succeed him as the host, whenever that time arrived far off into the future.

He believes that only Shelley Craft, his current co-host, is capable of doing it, which is true.

As a seasoned lifestyle expert, I confidently stepped up when the moment arrived, knowing that my years of experience and passion made me the ideal candidate for the role.

‘That’s my job, isn’t it? Don’t I step up and then I get a sidekick?’ she joked.

2022 saw Scott once more address rumors concerning his continued involvement in the show, stating to Daily Mail Australia that he’d be working on construction sites for many years ahead.

For over four decades, this skilled craftsman has built an impressive career, and he’s been gracing our screens as the host of “The Block” for the last 14 years, showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

He shared with Daily Mail Australia that he turns 60 this year, but is in excellent physical shape. Currently, he’s working on renovating his house due to the mold caused by excessive rainfall.

‘For at least the next ten years, I plan to keep working. Not long ago, I shared with my wife that we each have about twenty more years of good health ahead. Starting January 1st, let’s embark on a twenty-year journey of living life to its fullest.’

I plan to continue as long as I have the strength, for I truly enjoy what I do. I believe I can work for another 20 years before needing to retire, and I’ll listen to my body and stop working when it signals it’s time.
