Scooter Braun showers praise on Ariana Grande’s Wicked performance in supportive Instagram post

The movie featuring Grande (aged 31) and Cynthia Erivo (aged 37), who is a Tony award-winner, set new records in box office history on its first day of release due to its impressive earnings.
43-year-old Scooter Braun, who ended his professional relationship with Grande in August 2023, continued to serve as her manager during the main phase of creating the adaptation of the award-winning Broadway musical.
He was prolific in his praise for Grande’s performance and for the film as a whole.
He started by expressing his congratulations to Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, director Jon M. Chu, producer Marc Platt, and Ariana’s boyfriend Ethan Slater, acknowledging their outstanding performance.
He remarked that this movie was created with immense passion by some incredibly gifted individuals worldwide. Furthermore, he described Cynthia Erivo’s acting as simply exceptional beyond belief.
He then lauded Chu, calling him an ‘epic storyteller.’
Over the past fifteen years, it’s been truly an honor for me to share in your journey. And let me tell you, Jon Chu is the kind of friend every person could hope for. When it counts, he’s always there.
The manager penned, “To Ari now, our shared vision for more than a decade at that place has been unwaveringly WICKED.
After so many years, it’s clear now why… It’s because you were destined for this very instance,” he explained.
Wow, I simply can’t contain my admiration! It’s you, Ari, with your skill, determination, your enchanting voice, your knack for making us laugh and sob in the same breath… You’re not just an actor, you’re a movie star. And boy, have you earned it! Bravo and congratulations!
Braun expressed his immense pride by saying, “I couldn’t be more thrilled with you! Watching your performance of ‘Popular’ was truly the highlight of my night. Bravo, bravo, bravo! Now, everyone should go check out WICKED!
The well-known vocalist expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying “Thank you, Scooter, for those cherished moments,” in response to the series of photos he posted from the filming location that brought back fond memories.
‘Thank you thank you thank you for your support, and for being a part of this.’
At just 20 years old, Grande started trying out for the movie role, eventually outperforming numerous gifted actresses to secure the part.
Chu expressed to Vanity Fair that he had repeatedly reached out to the Grammy-winning artist, stating, ” Frankly, I found it hard to accept that she was capable of such an act.
‘It seems almost too easy to say, “Oh, Ariana Grande,”‘ he said.
He shared that the Break Free artist earned the sought-after part primarily because she stood out as the most captivating individual during each of her visits. It was impossible not to be mesmerized by her.
Wicked: Part 1 opened in theaters November 22.
Fans will have to nearly a year to see Wicked: Part 2 which will debut November 21, 2025.
