School Spirits season 2 updates: When are new episodes coming out?

As a die-hard fan of supernatural series, I can’t contain my excitement for Season 2 of School Spirits! Ever since Maddie Nears (Peyton List) mysteriously found herself haunting her high school in the first season, I’ve been hooked on this captivating tale.

Enthusiasts of “School Spirits” are chomping at the bit for information about Season 2 of this otherworldly show, and finally, there are some developments to share!

2023 will see the debut of “School Spirits” on Paramount+, where we follow Maddie Nears (played by Peyton List), a high school student who mysteriously finds herself awakening within her own school’s walls. Upon realizing she’s deceased, Maddie encounters a band of ghostly students who have passed away over the years, forming a sort of support group for one another. As Maddie tries to piece together her past, she becomes convinced that she was murdered and embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind her untimely demise.

The show took unexpected plunges as Maddie, in a spectral guise, discovered hidden truths about her loved ones. She sought aid from a classmate, culminating in an astonishing climax.

Initially, the program thrived and expanded further when it became available on Netflix. This popularity resulted in a renewal, which was beneficial due to the dramatic cliffhanger that transformed the series and set the stage for Season 2. However, progress has been slow since then, as all Hollywood productions were impacted by the 2023 strikes. Additionally, actress List has been occupied with her lead role in Cobra Kai, making it challenging to manage both shows effectively. Fortunately, viewers have some positive news, as it seems the show will resume production soon!

When is the release window for School Spirits Season 2?

Before the Writer’s Guild strike disrupted things, the show was busy scripting Season 2. In June, List posted a picture on Instagram showing that filming for Season 2 had started, with the cast and crew eager to resume work. Other actors, such as Milo Manheim (Wally Clark) and Kristian Ventura (Simon Elroy, Maddie’s friend), also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set.

In the return of our original lineup, we’ve got some exciting newcomers: Jess Gabor portrays Janet Hamilton, Zack Calderon steps into Diego Herrera’s shoes, Miles Elliot joins as Yuri, and Cihang Ma takes on the role of Quinn. Similar to Season 1, the upcoming season is set to consist of eight captivating episodes.

In Season 2, it’s rumored that Maddie discovers the truth about her past, leading her to bring together her companions from both the spiritual and physical realms so she can regain the life that was taken from her.

Given that filming is currently happening in Vancouver, it seems less probable that the show will air this fall. Instead, a premiere date around early 2025 appears more likely, unless Paramount+ chooses to delay its release until spring. It’s also worth noting that it might take some time before the series becomes available on Netflix.

Indeed, even though we have some time left before its release, it’s comforting to know that the show School Spirits will ultimately resolve that suspenseful cliffhanger, promising even greater excitement and drama.

School Spirits is streaming on Paramount+ and Netflix.
