The San Diego County Medical Examiner has determined how 62-year-old Jayne Trcka, a retired actress and bodybuilder, died on December 12th.
TMZ reports that the San Diego realtor died from heart disease and a broken femur, and the death has been ruled accidental.
Trcka, known as Kasie Cavanaugh in boxing and wrestling, died with long-term alcohol use playing a role in her death.
I can’t even begin to process this. She was just…gone. Apparently, a friend hadn’t heard from her in days, which is so unlike her, and they went to her house. They found her…just not responding in the kitchen. It’s devastating. She had a son, you know? He’s 42, and they haven’t released his name, but oh my god, I can’t imagine what he’s going through. The fact that she wasn’t answering calls…it’s just heartbreaking. She was a beautiful blonde from Minnesota, and now…it’s just too much.
Anna Trcka began her acting career in 2000 with the role of Miss Mann, a gym teacher, in the comedy horror film Scary Movie. The film, which cost $19 million to make, earned a worldwide total of $278 million and led to five follow-up movies, with another scheduled for release on June 12th.
The 5’7″ athlete also made an appearance on the improv comedy show Whose Line is it Anyway? and acted as a prison guard in Lady Gaga’s 2010 music video for “Telephone,” which featured Beyoncé and was directed by Jonas Åkerlund.
Trcka’s background includes gymnastics in her childhood, followed by weight training which she began in 1986. She worked as a US postal carrier from 1991 to 1998 and is also a certified personal trainer.
She shared that she’s successfully made her passion for fitness into a job, and now helps others achieve their own health and wellness goals.
I love to travel and stay active, whether it’s through outdoor activities like scuba diving, rollerblading, biking, and tennis, or through martial arts. I’m also interested in investments, particularly in real estate and stocks, and I really appreciate spending time outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh air.
Despite not using social media, Trcka was featured in many muscle and fitness magazines, such as Flex, Muscle Mag International, Woman’s Physique World, Ironman, and Fighting Females.
From 1988 to 2000, this San Diego City College graduate competed in 26 bodybuilding events, winning titles at the Jr. Nationals, California State Championships, and the North County Classic.
I didn’t decide to get into bodybuilding overnight; it happened gradually over time,” Trcka explained to Bodybuilding.com back in 2004.
Oh my gosh, I still can’t believe it! My very first competition, and I won! And then, Woman’s Physique World actually put me on their back cover! It was insane. That’s what really got me hooked – it led right into my next show. I did so well, and honestly, I just fell in love with everything about competing and being on stage. It’s completely taken over my life, and I can’t stop!
The Dakota County Technical Institute graduate added, ‘If you dream of becoming a champion bodybuilder, chase that goal! Don’t let anyone discourage you.’
Female bodybuilding has become less popular since the rise of fitness trends a few years ago.
In 2016, Trcka used GoFundMe to raise $5,875 towards a $7,500 goal to cover medical bills. She had been hospitalized three times in a single year due to a severe stomach virus.
