The trailer for Scary Movie 6 is generating buzz thanks to a clever release strategy: it will premiere during screenings of a movie from the franchise it playfully mocks.
A new comedy movie is coming to theaters in June, and its first trailer will be shown before the film Scream 7 on February 27th. Scream 7 is the newest installment in the Scream series, which heavily inspired the Scary Movie franchise.
Movie audiences will get a sneak peek at the funny trailer just before seeing what happens to Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) when she faces Ghostface again in the new Scream movie.

The trailer for Scary Movie 6 will be shown in theaters on February 27th. However, it might appear online sooner, so keep an eye out if you’re eager to see Anna Faris and Regina Hall reprise their roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks.

Shawn Wayans will return as Ray Wilkins, and Marlon and Keenen Ivory Wayans also co-wrote the script. The movie will also feature Jon Abrahams as Bobby Prinze, Lochlyn Munro as Greg Phillippe, Dave Sheridan as Doofy Gilmore, and Wayans himself will reprise his role as Shorty Meeks.
Chris Elliott, Cheri Oteri, and Anthony Anderson, all familiar faces from previous installments in smaller parts, will also be returning.

Details about the plot of Scary Movie 6 are currently secret, as are the specific horror movies it will parody. However, it has been confirmed that the new film will be a direct continuation of the story from Scary Movie 4, which came out in 2006.
Unlike the other films in the Scary Movie series, the fifth installment doesn’t feature Anna Faris and Regina Hall as Cindy and Brenda. Released in 2013, it performed the worst at the box office and received the lowest ratings, earning a dismal 4% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Scary Movie 6 releases in cinemas on 12 June.
