Scarlett Johansson’s Surprising Rule to Protect Her Daughter from Fame!
Scarlett Johansson shared one of the guidelines she follows as a parent to ensure the safety of her daughter, Rose Dorothy.
Although she first appeared on stage professionally when she was just eight years old and even acted in an off-Broadway production, this actress, now 40, shared that she’s not prepared for her ten-year-old child to follow in her footsteps and step into the limelight quite yet.
Although her young daughter showed enthusiasm about developing content for The Outset, the actress known as the Black Widow promptly dismissed the suggestion.
In an interview with InStyle, the film star shared that she values her kids’ “private lives” and “being inconspicuous” more than gaining the label of a “trendy mom”.
Johansson later brought up a recent chat with Rose where she expressed interest in creating videos for The Outset.
After the mother-of-two nixed the idea, Johansson said her preteen fired back: ‘Why can’t I?’
Apart from informing Rose that her youthfulness might be a concern, the mother of two elaborated: ‘Being a public figure isn’t just about finding fame enjoyable initially; once you have it, it becomes something you can’t easily hide or set aside again.’
Drawing upon her three-decade-long career in the entertainment industry, this twice-Oscar-nominated individual pondered over the significant price of fame often being paid – a heavy sacrifice.
The New York native strongly believes that protecting a person’s privacy for as long as feasible and allowing them to decide when to share it is a principle he follows with regard to his children.
Johansson further discussed her preference for purchasing items herself at Duane Reade, and she follows a rule not to take pictures with fans when she’s not working.
She expressed that it frequently upsets many individuals, but this doesn’t imply she isn’t grateful or pleased to have fans. On the contrary, she often tells people, “I’m not employed.” This essentially means she doesn’t want to be associated with being present in this moment and place with them. Instead, she is busy with her own activities.
Despite keeping her children’s matters private most of the time, Johansson disclosed in January that she had already started instructing Rose on the intricacies of dating.
During her time as a co-host on Today with Jenna and Friends, she revealed that she had discussed the idea of ‘ghosting’ with her daughter Rose.
Johansson mentioned that the subject emerged when Rose confessed about ending conversations with a young man who had shown interest in her, as she co-parents her daughter with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

She recently discussed the concept of ‘ghosting’ with her 10-year-old girl, as there had been a situation where a boy she liked didn’t feel the same way about her anymore.
She suddenly cut off all communication with him, leaving him feeling miserable. Meanwhile, I had suggested to her the idea of ‘ghosting’ him.
In a more relaxed phrasing, the actor from Iron Man remarked, “It truly undermines their self-esteem. It seems to start a downward spiral in them.
The mother of two, who is joined by her three-year-old son Cosmo with her spouse Colin Jost, openly admitted to having ghosted people in the past, explaining that she dislikes confrontations.
Johansson shares Rose with Dauriac, to whom she was married from 2014-2017.

She expressed a strong dislike for being “ghosted” (ignored without explanation), stating that it’s terrible and leaves the other person with lingering emotions, so she’d rather have an explicit breakup instead.
As a lifestyle guide, let me share this perspective: Being abruptly cut off without explanation can be truly disheartening. You’re essentially left hanging, wondering if there was something amiss on your end. This uncertainty tends to linger, often resurfacing in your thoughts long after the event has passed, leaving you to ponder, “Oh dear, could it have been me?” It’s a haunting feeling that can persist for quite some time.
In November, Johansson addressed her concerns about Rose getting an iPhone.
She mentioned, on the Today show, that her 10-year-old daughter is facing increased pressure lately, particularly when she interacts with older girls.
Johnson admitted it was tough for him to wrap his head around the concept of giving his child a phone during middle school.
She commented, “Social media seems challenging for young people, and it’s overwhelming for me because technology evolves at a pace that outruns our human minds.
In response to the question, Jojo Rabbit’s actress stated her preference for Rose to wait until she’s grown up before becoming involved.
