Scarlett Johansson has officially been dethroned as the highest-grossing box office star.
The new queen is Zoe Saldaña, who starred alongside the actor in the Marvel movies Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Thanks to starring in huge movie franchises like Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Star Trek, the 47-year-old Oscar winner has earned over $15.4 billion at the global box office, according to The Numbers.
Zoë Saldaña recently returned to her role as Neytiri in James Cameron’s latest Avatar movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash. The film, which cost $400 million to make, has already earned over $1.23 billion worldwide.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Zoe Saldaña is just constantly working and I CAN’T KEEP UP, but I’m trying! She’s got two more Avatar movies coming – seriously, she is Neytiri – and she’s also going to be in the third season of ‘Lioness’ on Paramount+! But that’s not all! She’s doing this super cute-sounding romantic movie for Netflix called ‘Positano’, and then this sci-fi thriller with Matt Ruskin called ‘Don’t Forget Me Tomorrow’! I need to start saving for all the tickets now!
Scarlett Johansson came in second place with over $15.4 billion in box office revenue. This success came from her role as Zora Bennett, a specialist in secret missions, in the science fiction film Jurassic World: Rebirth, which earned $869.1 million worldwide.
The actress, who has been nominated for an Oscar twice, probably lost her role because her first time directing a movie, ‘Eleanor the Great’ – a film about a grandmother dealing with loss – didn’t do well in theaters, earning only $3.1 million worldwide.
Johansson also appeared as Cousin Hilda Sussman-Korda in Wes Anderson’s comedy, The Phoenician Scheme, which grossed $40.2 million last year.
According to Deadline, The Outset founder was close to signing on to appear in the next Batman movie alongside Robert Pattinson, potentially boosting her career.
Johansson is also set to appear in several other films currently in development, including a new Exorcist movie directed by Mike Flanagan, the true-crime thriller Featherwood directed by Andrea Arnold, James Gray’s mafia drama Paper Tiger, and an action film called The Gauntlet directed by Christopher McQuarrie.
Samuel L. Jackson, the most experienced actor on the list, came in third place with a total of $14.6 billion earned from his films. This impressive number is largely due to his work in popular superhero franchises like The Avengers, Incredibles 2, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Captain Marvel.

Robert Downey Jr. came in at number four, earning $14.3 billion, largely due to his successful return to prominence through his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially in films like The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War.
Chris Pratt earned $14.13 billion thanks to his roles in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and his appearance in The Avengers, landing him at number five on the list.
Completing the list of the top ten were Tom Cruise, Chris Hemsworth, Vin Diesel, Chris Evans, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
