As a dedicated cinephile who has followed the reality TV scene closely for years, I’ve witnessed my fair share of scandals and dramatic twists. However, the ongoing saga between Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, and Raquel Leviss on “Vanderpump Rules” has left me utterly astounded.
The chaotic Scandoval infidelity controversy hasn’t subsided, with “Vanderpump Rules” actor Tom Sandoval filing a lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend and cast member Ariana Madix for violation of privacy.
In March 2023, Madix secretly looked through her ex-partner’s phone without his consent. She examined various types of files such as images, data, videos, and communications. Among these were sexually explicit FaceTime conversations involving Rachel Leviss that he had not given her permission to view.
According to the complaint, Madix is accused of making duplicates of the explicit videos featuring Leviss and then sharing them with both Leviss and other individuals without obtaining permission from Sandoval.
An opposing argument stems from a lawsuit filed by Leviss, 29 (previously known as Raquel Leviss), in February against Sandoval, 42, and Madix, 39. The lawsuit alleges that they engaged in eavesdropping, revenge porn, invasion of privacy, and intentionally causing emotional distress. Leviss initiated the legal action a year after a tabloid exposé disclosed her affair with Sandoval, who was previously dating Madix.
On March 1, 2023, during a West Hollywood performance with his band, Sandoval’s phone slipped out of his pocket and landed on the ground. When I, Madix, picked it up to return it, I stumbled upon some sexually explicit content from a FaceTime call between Sandoval and Leviss. This discovery ignited a cheating scandal. In my lawsuit, I claimed that Sandoval had secretly recorded me without my permission.
Sandoval claims that Madix violated his privacy by accessing his phone without permission and disseminating videos of Leviss. This constitutes an oppressive, fraudulent, or malicious act, as Madix intended to distress, harm, or irritate Sandoval, and disregarded his rights with full awareness.
Jordan Susman, representing Madix, expressed disdain towards Tom Sandoval in a statement to The Times. He criticized Sandoval for attempting to evade accountability for the repercussions of his actions on Madix.
Mr. Sandoval is fully aware of the shared benefits they enjoyed regarding their private communication tools, according to Susman. If it were up to him or his supposed lover, it would be against the law for anyone to find out if they were secretly seeing someone else.
Susman stated that Madix believes the court will recognize the insubstantial nature of Sandoval’s accusations.
Sandoval is asking the court to decide on the issue of shared blame in the Leviss lawsuit, as well as awarding him compensation for general damages, covering his legal expenses and more.
