Sayff wins Red Bull Kumite Canadian Qualifier: “Approaching SF like an athlete is the right path for me!”

Sabrour “Sayff” Baray emerged victorious in the Red Bull Kumite Canadian Qualifier 2025. Here’s a glimpse into his journey towards the summit.

Sayff Baray emerged victorious in the Red Bull Kumite Canadian Qualifier, granting him a flight to Paris, France, where he can strive for a place in the Red Bull Kumite World Final 2025.

Sayff wins Red Bull Kumite Canadian Qualifier

Following a 3-1 victory over Michael “Riddles” Kim’s character Terry using Ken, Sayff emerged triumphant at the Canadian Street Fighter 6 competition, earning him the title of champion. Now, he needs to gear up for the Red Bull Kumite Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) tournament.

If he manages to triumph in the 256-player tournament taking place in Paris, it will secure him a spot at the Red Bull Kumite World Final with only 16 competitors. Will he maintain his winning run and potentially go up against players like Saul “MenaRD” Mena, Daigo Umehara, Tsunehiro “gachikun” Kanamori, and Adel “Big Bird” Anouche? Only time will tell!

In a post on X following his win, Sayff expressed that he’s become quite intrigued by the physical aspects of gaming lately. He acknowledged that while his mental strength has always been robust, his endurance has often faltered. Despite any losses, he took pride in being able to play for an entire day straight. The fact that he secured two 1st place finishes suggests that treating gaming like a sport is the correct approach for him!

Sayff enters Red Bull Kumite LCQ 2025

Approaching the Red Bull Kumite LCQ, Sayff is showing promising signs of success. For instance, he emerged victorious in the CPT 2023 Online Event: North America Midwest against Thunder De Langis, and followed this up with a top-eight finish at the tier-one Capcom Cup X.

Lately, he excelled in the Battle of BC 7 and Courtside Clash events. Winning Battle of BC 7 helped him progress to the Red Bull Kumite Canadian Qualifier.
