Savannah Guthrie Cringes Over Awkward Kardashian Interview Moment

Savannah Guthrie winced as she revealed her most mortifying interview experience, which featured a well-known U.S. family member.

On Thursday, the host of Today, aged 53, and her fellow presenter Craig Melvin, who is 45, discussed their most awkward on-air experiences during an interview with Andy Cohen on his radio show, Radio Andy.

As I reflect on the past events, that lengthy to-do list of mine is still vividly etched in my memory, much like an awkward encounter with Guthrie.

Khloé Kardashian made her debut as a co-anchor on the morning news show quite some time ago, if I’m not mistaken.

‘She’s my favorite Kardashian,’ interjected Cohen, 56. 

Guthrie concurred, saying, ‘She indeed resembles a doll. It has been rumored in the media that the man who passed away in 2003, Robert Kardashian, might not have been her biological father.’

Cohen mentioned a rumor suggesting that OJ Simpson, who was found not guilty in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, might be the biological father.

Robert Kardashian served as a legal representative for O.J. Simpson during the highly publicized trial commonly referred to as “The Trial of the Century.

Kardashian’s then-wife Kris Jenner, was good friends with Nicole Simpson. 

Guthrie explained, ‘I don’t recall the specifics anymore, but it seems the producers back then urged me to inquire about something, which made me feel quite awkward as they aren’t present here now.’

In the original plan, Kardashian was set to discuss their upcoming reality series, “Khloé & Lamar,” which starred her and her former spouse, Lamar Odom.

As the morning show host, I found myself hesitantly obeying instructions, but like an inexperienced news anchor, I chose to delay action until the very end, a decision that provoked a chuckle from Melvin.

At the Today Show, there’s something known as a “hard cutoff,” which signifies that all activities must wrap up. The show will go dark or end at a specific time, she clarified.

When she had 10 seconds left to go, Guthrie did the deed.

She remembered saying, “Khloe, I need to ask you something quickly, before our time runs out. There have been rumors suggesting that Robert Kardashian isn’t your biological father. Is that true?

May she still be blessed – should I encounter her now, I would embrace her warmly for this act of hers. It is unclear if she was so skilled to notice the countdown, like ‘three’, ‘two’…”

This version retains the sentiment and meaning of the original sentence while using more natural language that flows smoothly.

She agreed, “Yes, I understand. It’s no big deal.” I responded, “We won’t be long then.” She effectively helped me out in a pinch.

In April 2024, two years before his passing, Simpson, who served nine out of a 33-year sentence for armed robbery in Las Vegas related to an attempt to unlawfully reclaim personal possessions, also clarified certain matters. However, he didn’t do this without casting doubt on the woman who believed him guilty of two murders.

In simpler terms, ‘Everyone tends to prefer certain types, don’t they? I’ve always found Kris quite adorable. She was genuinely kind, but at that time, I was involved with high-profile models. The rumors aren’t accurate. They are nowhere near the truth.’
