Everyone knows *Saturday Night Live* is a classic comedy show, but it’s more than just funny. Music has always been a key part of the show, and while the planned performances are often good, it’s the surprising, unplanned moments that truly make it memorable.
Everyone remembers when Morgan Wallen abruptly walked off stage at the end of a recent show. The audience hadn’t responded well to his performance, and his exit came across as disrespectful to the rest of the cast, making the finale all about him.
Even with limited space, the musical performances generally stand out. The area is too small for a full band setup, so the quality of the music itself is what really makes an impression.
Saturday Night Live names musical guests for first three episodes of season 51
Okay, so Season 51 of *Saturday Night Live* is coming up, and they just announced the first three musical guests! It’s actually more like three and a half artists, if you want to get technical, but it’s gonna be a good start to the season, for sure.
The first episode airs on October 4th and features Bad Bunny as the host. While Bad Bunny isn’t currently scheduled to perform, Doja Cat – who’s releasing a new album called ‘Vie’ on September 26th – will be the guest. There’s a possibility Bad Bunny might make a special appearance with her.
Amy Poehler, known from her time on Saturday Night Live, will host the show on October 11th, with musical guest Role Model. Role Model is an indie singer – you might recognize his song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” The performance should be relaxed and cozy, perfect for an autumn evening.
Sabrina Carpenter will be making one last appearance on our show on October 18th, and it’s a big one! She’ll both host and perform as the musical guest. This isn’t the first time she’s performed with us – she was our musical guest in the season 49 finale. Plus, her new album, *Man’s Best Friend*, recently hit number one!
Saturday Night Live is on Saturdays at 11:30 pm Eastern Time. You can watch it live on NBC or stream it on Peacock, and replays are also available on Peacock.
