The Film Distributors Association has now announced the official release date, and it will be released simultaneously in the UK and North America on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Weaving hinted at a wildly unexpected ride for the sequel, describing it as completely crazy and something fans will really enjoy.

I was reading an interview with her in People magazine, and she said the writers really threw her for a loop! She explained that the way they got to this point in the story felt both totally natural and completely unexpected. It was a really cool twist, apparently!

Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar will play Ursula Danforth, joining Shawn Hatosy as Titus Danforth and Elijah Wood as The Lawyer in the project.

Directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin praised the new cast, saying they were thrilled with everyone’s unique and special contributions. They highlighted how scary, funny, and wonderfully strange the group of characters turned out to be.

The first movie had a huge impact on us, and seeing Samara reprise her role – especially wearing that iconic dress – was a really moving experience.

The horror film Ready or Not was a critical success, earning an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviewers praised it as a clever, funny, and entertaining movie with a thrilling edge.

As Digital Spy pointed out in their review, a common frustration with horror movies is wondering why characters don’t simply run away from danger.

Grace consistently makes smart, practical decisions, prioritizing her own survival – which is exactly what you’d expect.

As the intensity of Ready or Not increases, Grace is often forced to fight to survive, but she never acts violently just to be violent. She’s a consistently relatable and sympathetic character, making it easy to root for her throughout the entire story.

The movie’s follow-up will debut at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival in mid-March 2026, before being released in cinemas.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is in UK cinemas from 20 March, 2026.
