Sarah Michelle Gellar recalls the precise moment she understood just how intense the new movie would be. Even though the first film from 2019 hinted at it, this sequel doesn’t hold back.
I was just settling into my hotel room, doing that usual check to make sure everything was clean. I sat down, and honestly, I was shocked – the chair was covered in blood. It was a really unsettling moment, and I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
Usually, finding blood in a hotel room would really scare me. I immediately thought Samara Weaving must have stayed in that room the night before. I noticed blood splatters everywhere, so I quickly checked with the front desk. I asked if Samara had been in the room, and they confirmed that she had. They then asked if she’d left anything behind, and I told them she had, but that everything was okay.
Sarah Michelle Gellar Joins the Ready or Not Franchise
Kristy Swanson, known for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will star in a new film alongside Samara Weaving, who is returning from Ready or Not. Weaving will once again play Grace MacCaullay, the sole survivor of the deadly events that unfolded in the first movie.
Eleanor, the head of the incredibly rich Danforth family, comes from a line of families – like the Le Domas – who gained their wealth by making a deal with the devil. After Grace survived the deadly game in the first movie, families like the Le Domas are now forced to hunt her down in a new game, or risk suffering the same terrible fate.
The new film features a strong cast including Kathryn Newton (known for Abigail), Kevin Durand (Abigail), Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt), Néstor Carbonell (Shogun), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), and the iconic horror director David Cronenberg.
Why Ready or Not 2: Here I Come Already Looks Like the Perfect Horror Sequel
The cast of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has been building excitement for the film for almost a year, beyond what’s already been shown in trailers and previews. They’ve promised fans will love it, with one star saying it delivers “everything you want” – or, more specifically, everything they wanted. The team worked hard to craft the best possible story, and they believe audiences will be thrilled with the result.
Sarah Michelle Gellar expressed her excitement about joining the film back in 2025, soon after being cast. While she couldn’t share any specifics about her character, she mentioned that she loved Ready or Not and wished she could have been in it years ago, saying, ‘I wanted to play that role 15 years ago,’ but now she finally had the chance.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is currently slated to arrive in theaters on Mar. 20.
