Sarah Michelle Gellar reacts to Buffy co-stars’ reunion
As a long-time fan and avid gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the fantastical world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of nostalgia when seeing my beloved cast reuniting. The Trio, those mischievous villains from season six, have always held a special place in my heart (or should I say soul?). Their antics and the dynamic between them and our fearless Slayer Buffy will forever be engraved in my memory.
Sarah Michelle Gellar expresses her heartfelt response to the reunion of her fellow actors from the show, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Actor from Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s summer episode rekindled her affection for the three performers who brought to life the main antagonists during season 6. These talented individuals were Adam Busch, Danny Strong, and Tom Lenk, collectively known as The Trio. They recently recreated a nostalgic photo session together.
As Leonardo AKA Andrew Wells from the vampire series, I recently posted a pic on Insta and challenged my followers to caption it. My buddies didn’t disappoint, and one of them, who happens to be Sarah Gellar, wrote a heartfelt message just for us three amigos.
Gellar stated: “Three individuals I hold dear.” Strong, known for his role as Jonathan Levinson on Buffy, responded: “I love you just as much!!
The Trio is rounded out by Busch, who played the Buffy character Warren Mears, a role he’s famously associated with for murdering the beloved character Tara (portrayed by Amber Benson).
In a similar vein, Nathan Fillion, the actor from Castle, expressed affection for the show’s group after portraying the misogynistic antagonist Caleb in season 7, by leaving a comment to this effect.
In a playful remark, Fillion pointed out that the person seen faintly in the background (positioned far back and to the left) might be Evelyn. If you have any details about her current location, feel free to contact 1-800-HEY ITS THOSE GUYS FROM BUFFY I LOVE THEM.
In the fifth season, we’re introduced to three antagonists who aren’t supernatural but have a knack for magic and conjuring demons, with the ambition of seizing control over Sunnydale.
Initially, Buffy and her group, the Scooby Gang, dismiss what they’re doing as typical demon activity. However, around mid-season six, events start taking a sinister turn, leading Buffy to realize that the antagonists are far closer than she had imagined.
Currently, it seems unlikely that the Buffy cast will get together for anything more substantial than casual gatherings, as the Audible spin-off series “Slayers: A Buffyverse Story” was terminated by Disney this year following only one season.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed about the rumors of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. It had been on hold since 2022, leaving us fans hanging. In January, Dolly Parton, one of the original producers, reassured Business Insider that it was still in development, but since then, there’s been radio silence.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer can be streamed in full on Disney+.
