Sarah Jessica Parker reveals why she refuses to take pictures with fans

Sarah Jessica Parker shared the primary cause behind her reluctance to snap photos with fans, and clarified her preferred alternative actions.

As a devoted admirer, I’m sharing some intriguing insights from a beloved actress, turning 60 this year. She spilled a fascinating secret about “Sex and the City” in recent times, and she delved deeper into this topic during her latest appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

The star discussed how these days people no longer ask for autographs and instead want selfies.

Later on, Parker reminisced about a recent occurrence at an airport, stating, “This is what I’ve been attempting, as I happened to be at the airport last Friday.

A stranger approached me without greeting, instead asking, “May I snap a photo of you?” To which I replied, “Seeing as we haven’t been formally introduced yet and you haven’t shared your name, what should I call you?

Sarah made it clear that she declined to take a picture, instead saying to the fan, “However, we’ll have an engaging discussion. I can assure you, it will prove to be far more significant.

Once he got comfortable within the airport, Parker went back to the supporter who was accompanying a group from Minnesota.

In a recent conversation, the actress from Hocus Pocus revealed that she and her brother engaged in lively discussions with everyone present around the dining table.

Sternly, he interjected, “You seem to be lecturing everyone on proper behavior, which is quite irritating, I must say.

The mother of three elaborated on her preference for interacting with fans, stating, “I find it more comfortable when I can have a conversation with fans rather than having someone approach me with a camera already at the ready, questioning and snapping photos simultaneously.

Sarah went on, “It often surprises me greatly,” she said. “But let me assure you, I enjoy engaging in a discussion more.

In casual conversation, if someone approached me and shared, “It might not be the optimal moment for you, but I’m Veronica and I’m thrilled to meet you!

Later on, Howard playfully remarked, “Here’s the problem: I tell folks straight up, ‘Hey, if I were George Clooney, I’d be thrilled to take a photo with you. As it stands, I don’t exactly feel my best.’

As Parker burst into laughter, the host jokingly commented, “I don’t want another unflattering photo circulating, as it is already everywhere, making me look like a creature.

Furthermore, I wouldn’t prefer you circulating my photo, and let me be clear, I am upfront about this, but it does wear me out,” Stern expressed.

Over time, Parker has generally chosen to shield her personal affairs from public scrutiny. Her husband is the renowned actor, Matthew Broderick, with whom she has three offspring – James, aged 22, and twins Tabitha and Marion who are both 15 years old.

In an interview with The Guardian, the actress shared her thoughts on being a public figure, stating that it can be quite complex.

In certain situations where a child may be experiencing a tantrum at an airport or during challenging phone conversations, it requires a generous and understanding spirit of you. If dealing with such circumstances is the challenge I have to face, then I consider myself quite fortunate as I’m in a favorable position overall.

And in a past interview with Vogue, the star talked about her own relationship with fame.

Sarah mentioned, “I don’t usually travel with a large group of people.” She added, “We don’t have luxury cars or personal security; instead, we reside in the bustling city streets of New York.

Back in April, Sarah and her husband Matthew, who they married in 1997, seldom grace the red carpet together. However, that changed when they appeared alongside their twin daughters on a red carpet event.

They dressed to impress with their famous parents at the Broadway opening of Smash in NYC.

Sarah is currently engaged in a lot of activities, as she takes on the role of Carrie Bradshaw again for the Sex And The City revival titled “And Just Like That.

Starting last month in May, the critically acclaimed third season of the show made its debut on HBO Max, with new episodes becoming available each week on their streaming platform.

I couldn’t contain my excitement when I found myself standing alongside Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who were reprising their iconic roles as Miranda and Charlotte. As a die-hard fan, it felt surreal to be part of the same set where these two remarkable women brought Sex and the City’s characters to life!

In the recent season, I was thrilled to see some familiar faces gracing my screen alongside me! These included the extraordinary talents of Sarita Choudhury, the radiant Nicole Ari Parker, the hilarious Mario Cantone, the charming John Corbett, the captivating David Eigenberg, and the versatile Evan Handler. What a delight it was to witness their performances!
