David Stevens from Coral stated that the record for the most grey horses in the Grand National was five, but this was when there were over 40 participants. This year, with 34 runners, six grey horses are competing, establishing a new record.

Phelps stated that this year’s Grand National appears to be one of the most open races in a while, with I Am Maximus currently leading the betting odds at 8/1 for the 34-runner event. Interestingly, he is the third favorite horse we’ve had in just three days.

With an open competition and substantial odds throughout, there seems to be a high level of anticipation for betting nationwide. The total wagered amount in this race might even surpass £150 million.

This week at Aintree is quite significant, as the total amount wagered over the three days has a strong possibility of reaching a quarter of a billion pounds.
