On July 9th, SNK Interactive Co., Ltd. has revealed plans to debut their role-playing game (RPG) featuring sword combat, titled “Samurai Shodown R,” on both Android and iOS devices. Initially released in March 2022 as part of the ACA NEOGEO series, this new version is now available for open beta testing.

In simpler terms, SAMURAI SHODOWN R is an action role-playing game where you engage in thrilling sword fights. It’s designed to replicate the speed and excitement of the classic arcade version. The combos go beyond what was seen in the original series, offering something fresh yet faithful to its roots. Originating from the renowned Samurai Shodown series, this game was first introduced as a fighting game back in 1993.

In this contest, you’ll engage in nerve-wracking battles with significant consequences, where precision and impactful blows are absolutely essential. For me, the thrill lies in the comeback of beloved characters such as Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Ukyo. Moreover, each character boasts distinctive fighting techniques and special abilities.

Now that the Online Battle Tool (OBT) is at your disposal, you’re all set to jump into the game and participate in live skirmishes against players worldwide. And if that doesn’t excite you enough, there are additional Challenge modes with daily tasks designed to help you sharpen your abilities. I can’t wait to give it a go once I have some free time!
