Samsung TV Plus users can catch up on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power before Season 2 is released

As a die-hard fan of all things Middle-earth, I must say that this opportunity to watch Amazon Prime’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” for free on Samsung TV Plus is a dream come true! Growing up, I spent countless hours immersed in Tolkien’s world, and this series promises to fill in the gaps between the tales we know so well.

There’s been a lot of buzz and anticipation about the upcoming TV series from Amazon Prime, titled “The Rings of Power,” which is part of “The Lord of the Rings” universe. If you’re curious to see what it’s all about, here’s your chance! The second season will be available on Amazon starting August 29, but until then, you can catch up on a different streaming platform other than Amazon Prime Video.

Who can watch it?

According to Samsung’s official news source, an unprecedented offer is available for the Prime Video series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”. Eligible viewers are Samsung TV and Galaxy users residing in the United States, Canada, Brazil, the UK, and Germany who can access Season One of this series on-demand at no cost through Samsung TV Plus.

For the very first time, it’s been pointed out that Prime Video is releasing an entire season for streaming without requiring a subscription, potentially reaching up to 300 million screens worldwide. In certain parts of the globe, this production will also be accessible via the Samsung TV Plus channel.

What can we expect?

As per the Samsung article, the series captivates audiences globally with its compelling narratives and stunning visuals, delving into the creation of the Rings of Power, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, and the heroic journeys of elves, dwarves, and men as they face the ominous return of evil to Middle-earth. Fortunately, one doesn’t need to have read any Tolkien works to understand the storyline and appreciate these tales.

It doesn’t mean that the series has no connections to works cherished for decades; in fact, fans of “The Lord of the Rings” will notice several familiar faces. For instance, while not forming the Fellowship of the Ring, Lord Elrond serves as a counselor to the High King of the elves. Galadriel commands the northern armies and tirelessly pursues Sauron’s defeat. Isildur, who will later sever the One Ring from Sauron’s hand and keep it, is a young warrior striving to find his place among the Numenorian hosts.

Alongside these stories are the accounts of characters introduced in the original series. “The Tales of Hobbits,” which serves as an introduction to The Lord of the Rings, introduces us to the ancestors of the hobbits, but it’s within this series that we encounter the nomadic Harfoots, who came before the Shire inhabitants. In a southern land, a single mother, who has formed an alliance with an elf, faces a perilous enemy that endangers her son and way of life. Lord Halbrand hails from a similar region and harbors resentment towards the orcs. The dwarves of Khazad-Dum are known to us, but Durin arrives accompanied by his affectionate spouse and troublesome offspring. Most captivating of all is the enigmatic figure known as The Stranger, who descends from the heavens in a fiery explosion and has no knowledge of his own identity.

The tales draw upon supplementary material from J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic “The War of the Ring” narrative, providing additional insight into the Second Age. Notably, the famous rings aren’t introduced until later in the series, and a significant location, Numenor – the island that sinks into the sea as depicted in “The Silmarillion” – serves as one of the main settings. The first season hints at the man who will eventually trigger Numenor’s destruction, building up tension throughout his reign as Queen Regent.

You have until August 28 to take advantage of this offer, which means you should explore and discover something delightful within Tolkien’s imaginative universe right away!
