Samara Weaving wants a Ready or Not sequel, too, says she's 'all in'

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for thrilling narratives and captivating characters, I can hardly contain my excitement over the potential sequel to the exhilarating 2019 film, Ready or Not! Samara Weaving‘s recent comments about the long-rumored sequel have sent shockwaves through the horror community, and it seems we might finally be on the brink of seeing Grace Le Domas once again.

It seems like Samara Weaving may have hinted that a follow-up to the well-received 2019 movie “Ready or Not” could be on its way!

During an interview with ComicBook about her latest horror flick, Azrael, Weaving was inquired about the potential sequel and shared that she’s fully committed and believes everyone else is on board as well. It seems likely that she refers to filmmaking team Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, more famously recognized as Radio Silence.

I think we’re all in. I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.

Later on, she playfully hinted that she needed to phone some people to get updates about the potential follow-up, although it’s important to mention that Ready or Not 2 has been a topic of discussion for quite a while without any official announcement. There have been whispers about this sequel for years, and last March, Insider reported that Adam Robitel was tipped to direct the sequel. Robitel is recognized for his work on The Taking of Deborah Logan as writer and director, and for directing the Escape Room movies.

While I think Robitel would be a good choice for director, I’d rather see Radio Silence return as they seem to have a good rapport with Weaving and previously cast her in a fun, albeit brief role, in their other movie, Scream VI.

According to recent speculation, it seems that Robitel may still be part of the project. Weaving’s recent statements hint towards the original crew reassembling for another installment. Assuming Radio Silence won’t be at the helm this time, I think they might come back as producers instead.

Clearly, Weaving resuming her character as the survivor Grace, who narrowly lived through the tumultuous events of her wedding night at the Le Domas estate, is undeniably a hopeful indication that she’s ready to reappear in the game.

Currently, Michael Sheen is engaged in a promotional tour for the upcoming horror film titled “Azrael”, which IFC Films and Shudder are releasing. This chilling movie centers around a band of mute zealots pursuing a woman who managed to break free from her confinement. The film will make its way to theaters on September 27, followed by its availability on Shudder at a later date.
