Samara Weaving joins remake of Netflix horror-comedy

As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast who has survived countless horror games and watched more slasher films than I can count, the news of Samara Weaving joining the remake of The Trip is music to my ears! With her impressive acting resume and knack for playing complex characters, she’s sure to bring a fresh twist to this thrilling tale.

Actress Samara Weaving, who was previously seen in Scream VI and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, is now set to appear in the reboot of Netflix’s chilling comedy series, The Trip.

Previously known for his role on “Home and Away,” the actor who later became a Hollywood star has been revealed to be part of the English adaptation of the Norwegian thriller titled “I Onde Dager.” The movie is being directed by Jorma Taccone, a member of the comedy group “The Lonely Island,” and its script has been adapted by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney. At present, filming for this project is underway in Tampere, Finland, as reported by Deadline.

In addition to Weaving, the movie features actors such as Jason Segel from How I Met Your Mother and The Muppets, Timothy Olyphant who appeared in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Mandalorian, Juliette Lewis known for Yellowjackets, Paul Guilfoyle famous for CSI, and Keith Jardine, a former mixed martial artist turned actor.

The duo, Weaving and Segel, portray an actor-director pair embarking on a trip to a remote cabin. At first glance, this getaway appears intended for them to address their problems and rekindle their relationship; however, beneath the surface, both characters harbor hidden desires to eliminate each other.

In a statement, the director and co-producer of both versions, Tommy Wirkola, expressed his excitement about Jorma’s unique perspective being applied to the content, saying, “I’m eagerly looking forward to witnessing Jorma’s distinctive touch on this project.
