Samantha Armytage fights tears on The Golden Bachelor as she shares marriage heartbreak: ‘No instruction manual on how to leave’

Monday’s episode of The Golden Bachelor became unexpectedly emotional when host Samantha Armytage teared up while discussing heartbreak.

What started as a simple get-together during a lunch at the mansion became a surprisingly emotional moment when several of the women shared heartbreaking stories about their divorces.

The participants opened up to Samantha about difficult times in their relationships, and this led her to unexpectedly reveal details about her own split from Richard Lavender last year.

Everyone faces difficulties. Life is challenging and often chaotic, and no one escapes feeling overwhelmed or going through tough times,” Sam explained to the group.

It’s almost like a point of pride. I personally feel a sense of strength in having overcome difficult times, and it’s a way of acknowledging that you’ve faced hardship and come through it.

Samantha opened up and shared her own experiences while sympathizing with Jan, who had just revealed she found out about her husband’s three-year affair on her 40th birthday.

“There’s no guidebook for getting a divorce,” Samantha said, her voice filled with emotion. “I know because I’m going through it myself.”

The segment concluded with the women supporting each other, a touching display of connection and honesty that stood out from the typical conflicts in the house.

Earlier this month, Sam made a surprising admission following her split from husband Richard. 

Oh my gosh, I was glued to The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show! You know, ever since I heard about her split from that horse-loving guy at the end of last year, I’ve been desperately hoping she’s okay. And Jess actually asked her if she thought she’d ever find love again! I was on the edge of my seat, seriously. I need to know if she’ll be happy!

‘Of course I’ll find love again. I mean, I’m keeping my options open,’ she cheekily said. 

She continued to assure fans, saying: ‘I am fine. Don’t worry about me, I’m having fun as always.’

Nine Star mentioned she plans to start dating again, but she’ll be more selective about who she chooses.

Just before their four-year wedding anniversary, the couple announced they were separating.

They got married on New Year’s Eve in 2020 at Richard’s beautiful 40-hectare property in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

Sam announced that she and Richard have separated, but they remain on good terms and wish each other well. “It’s a difficult time, as all breakups are, but we’re handling it amicably,” she said.

I remember when Sam and Richard first got together – it was April 2019, and they just seemed so happy! Then, in June 2020, they announced they were engaged, which was wonderful news. It didn’t take long before they were married, having a beautiful ceremony right on Richard’s property in the NSW countryside just six months later. It all happened so quickly, but they clearly found something special!

Ever since Samantha and Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden, from The Golden Bachelor, attended the Logies earlier this year, people have been speculating about a possible romance between them, especially after their recent breakup.

Rumors of a romantic connection between them began after they appeared together on the red carpet at the Logies, where people noticed how close they seemed.

The reality show’s leading man responded to the talk of the town ahead of the series’ big debut.

While in Sydney for the premiere of The Golden Bachelor, Bear openly shared his admiration for a fellow cast member in an interview with Daily Mail.

When questioned about rumors linking him to the TV star, he immediately denied them, calling them just ‘rumors’.
